Saw it 2 nights ago. Thought it was a solid movie, and the characters were developed well. The title of the movie is not really an indicator of the story, although the Spanish/English barrier is a factor. But I think it would have been hard to sell the movie without a gimmicky title so that might be why they chose it. Sandler is pretty good, as well as Coris Leachman(sp) and Teo Leoni makes a believable neurotic. The hispanic woman who plays Flor is gorgeous, and she is excellent as well. All in all, I would say more than a rental. 4 outta 5.

Definetly a decent flick. Everyone in it was good. Sandler went out of his usually roles, Leoni was very good and hate-able as necessary for the part, Cloris Leachman was hilarious, Paz Vega was very good. Even the kids did a great job. Still, it was missing something. If you go see this know that this isn't at all a typical Sandler comedy movie AT ALL and is NOT about his family as much as about the Hispanic woman and her daughter.

Last night I did a little search on that sandwhich that Sandler made in the movie. Apparently Sandman trained with some master chef for the movie, and all the dishes in the flick are dishes that the chef would create in those situations or whatever. The sammich that he made (which had my mouth watering bigtime) is a BLT derivative that I haven't been able to find the recipe for yet. I am trying to figure out what the spread on the bread was. ![]() |

So I actually saw this movie after I said we would wait until video. My fiancee wanted to see it on Saturday so I complied. I actually really liked this movie. I thought it was well done and very fun. Sandler was cool, Leoni was definately good in her roll, and Paz Vega was hot.
Let us know if you find that sammich recipe eSDee. That looked damn good with the egg on it! |

My g/f liked it, I thought it was ok. That was on MILF though.
I liked the ending. It wasn't Hollywood at all. |
