Now that was funny. Just the beginning part I could not figure out what was going on. Really no talent at all.

As for Jessica, you may not like her songs but at least she has a good voice. Ash ain't get that. I guess the acid reflux did her in.

i was shocked by how bad ashlee sounded last night. i was on the internet at halftime with the tv just running in the background, and i heard her singing and was like "wow!" her voice is just terrible.

You could hear them booing when they announced her name just before the halftime show started. Give her credit for sticking with it and not giving in. She was probably pretty upset by it.

to be fair, there were major sound problems during that whole game...as well as the half-time show. you can tell that the in-ear monitor wasn't working for all the performers, and that their mic level was way off. when you can't hear yourself on stage, you're sure to sing off-key. for crying out loud, the back-up singers were louder than the actual performers.

but this isn't an excuse for a lack of talent. after all, despite the technical setbacks, kelly clarkson still sounded pretty good...but you can tell even she was struggling.

Hehe, i think it would have been better if she had just danced a jig and let her backround track do the singing...

What I thought was more funny was the halftime at the Fiesta bowl when Lenny Kravitz "played." All they did was show a recording of him playing in an empty stadium and used creative camera angles to minimize the shots of the empty seats. That was the most pathetic thing I've seen on TV in a while. Kudos to Lenny Kravitz for finding a way to make me like him even less.

dad was a minister who decided to market his daughters. i saw him on Dateline or 20/20 or a show like that and he's caught a lot of flack for it.

I didn't think she was terrible. She just doesn't belong in a friggin' stadium with a voice like that. If she were singing live in small club people would be rockin' along, I bet. You could hear her straining her voice trying to fill that stadium with sound, but you need years of practice or virtuoso talent to pull that off in a venue of that size, even with the sound systems they have. But she's being mass marketed by her handlers who see her as a cash cow (and I imagine she'd like to see that too). If she stayed within herself, started small in the minor circuit where she belongs, she could have certainly started a potentially successful career. Instead, she was thrust toward the sun way too soon and now she's going to burrrrn.
