Wooo!! Go Lakers!!!

Kobe getting injured might be the best thing for this team. They rallied together and beat the Cavs. Lamar was great, 24p, 8r, 7a. I want to see the other players work at being offensive threats. And maybe seeing Luke Walton actually play a game. That would be nice.

Lebron showed his immaturity at the end. He should have gone to the hoop.

this could be a good shake up for the team. the other night the reserves took over at the end of the game against Minnesota. i think we need to put more pressure on other guys to perform well all game, with or without Kobe.

i'm not a lakers fan by any means, but i'll be the first to agree that kobe getting hurt might be a good thing for them. for one thing, i'm sick of odom being such a timid pansy. he needs to start playing like the all-star he's capable of being.

At least we beat the Heat in our own house.

Especially in the West with all-star calibered forwards like Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Zach Randolf, Chris Webber, Paul Gasol, Andrei Kirilenko, and ect.

I know that's great. If Shaq wants to beat the Clippers, well he should have stayed a Laker.

Those are all power forwards. Lamar's natural position is small forward.

just because there are two or three slots open for small forwards on the all-star team doesn't mean there are only two or three all-star worthy small forwards in the entire conference.

anyway, i'm not saying he necessarily belongs on the all-star team, and granted he's possibly past his prime, but i do believe he's quite capable of turning in all-star-like performances. that's all.

as for odom, i think he has all-star level talent. the problem is that he's only had one season (last year, with miami) where he really lived up to that talent.

is he going to make this year's all-star team? of course not. as others have pointed out, there are way too many talented 3s and 4s in the western conference. (by the way, i think you have to remember dirk and stoudemire in the list of great forwards in the west....i realize the list was not supposed to be exhaustive, but they've both stepped up so much this year that i think they deserve some props).

KG plays power forward but I think his natural position is small forward just like Odom.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Dirk and Amare.

imo, that is why KG is so great and so versitile (sp?). he has the skills of a small forward in the body of the power forward.

but you couldn't beat the Lakers in 3 tries this year including pre-season. This is all that matters anyway. Nice sub-500 record you've got there. Currently the Clips are also out of the playoffs. Good thing you beat the Heat.

Breaking news: The Lakers are 2-1/2 games better than the Clippers! So the Lakers are barely above .500.

my point is that you shouldn't talk $hit when your team isn't better and gets slapped by my team every time they play.

I talk $hit because pple still think their Lakers are that good. Did you see anything about the Clippers from us? We know about our team so we don't talk smack until the Lakers fans started going "Wooo!"

The lakers are still good. When they win we're happy and want to go "Wooo!" You should have known what you were getting yourself into when you clicked on this thread.

what, if anything, could we see about the Clippers from you?! you're 18-19. you have nothing to go "Wooo!" about except for maybe Kobe getting hurt. that's why we hear nothing from you.

verve started this thread to talk about the game the other night and how it may be a good turning point for the lakers. there are no delusions of grandeur about our team. but there is a clear sense of who the better team in LA is. we shall see this again next week when the Lakers and Clips match up again. Let's see if y'all can beat us without Kobe. Until then, you have nothing to talk $hit about because your team doesn't back you up even the least bit.

well honestly the Lakers aren't ahead of the Clippers by a lot of games. We'll have to see this match up. I can already tell it might be a close game.

I have nothing against the Clippers. I would love to see them succeed some day (when Sterling dies or is assassinated). But what I can't stand is the talk from Clips fans about the Lakers when their team is down. It is foolish to talk $hit when your team sucks. I am a niners fan so my mouth was shut most of this football season for just that reason.

i can understand that there's ppl that don't like the lakers. but if i'm not mistaken, a lot of the animosity is b/c of certain FANATICS that go overboard. For example, if someone (whom we'll name inidvidual ...oh i don't know...J) goes off about how their team (which we'll call team L) beat so-and-so, and tries to rub it in everyone's face, i can see how a lot of ppl will get get pissed. But how is that different from someone (whom we'll name individual B) who tries to rub it in everyone's face that team L lost to ONE SPECIFIC TEAM? one is just as bad as another.
(names have been editted to protect the innocent )

as brew pointed out, verve started this thread to talk about kobe getting hurt, and as a lakers fan, i'll admit i was one of the first to go "WOOOO!" but bach, no offense or anything, but you've got some SERIOUS issues with the lakers. did they run over your dog or something?

anyhoot, back on subject, Lakers without Kobe = good thing.

They beat the timberwolves yesterday. Awesome. Granted the wolves are struggling, but Atkins was stepping up and many players were keep their cool during the close final minutes a ' la true Laker fashion.
