Kellen Winslow hurt

Team says Winslow's injuries aren't 'life-threatening'

WESTLAKE, Ohio -- Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. was injured in a motorcycle accident, but the team said his injuries aren't life-threatening.

Winslow was riding in a community college parking lot Sunday when he hit a curb at about 35 mph and was thrown from the motorcycle, police Lt. Ray Arcuri said.

He was taken by ambulance to Fairview Hospital and was scheduled to be transferred to the Cleveland Clinic on Monday where the team's medical staff would treat him, Browns spokesman Bill Bonsiewicz said.

"He went over the handlebars and was real evasive about what the injuries were," Arcuri said.

Winslow was wearing a helmet, but it wasn't strapped on and flew off his head, Arcuri said. He and four other men were riding motorcycles in the parking lot, not far from Winslow's home.

The first-round draft pick missed nearly all of his rookie year after breaking his leg in the second game of the season. He has had two operations on the leg.

Ha-ha....Cleveland wasted another draft pick. Well, I guess since he is a soldier he will be back.

You figure that after what happened to Jay Williams, athletes would stay away from motocycles...

it likely is. i know it was in williams' contract.

but much like aaron boone going out and tearing his ACL playing basketball, athletes just don't want to live by the restrictions. i can't say i blame them, but i also can't say i feel sorry for them when it backfires and their contract ends up voided.

That's why the parking lot speed limit is at 10 or 15 mph. He deserved it.

At first I was thinking oh no the great NFL football player Kellen Winslow was hurt, but then I clicked and it was just his kid.

what an idiot... after all that talking he's done... he created his own hype and has yet to even come close to it... if someone told me they would pay me $40 million to play football .... i wouldn't get near anything to ruin that chance... the "chosen one" is not chosen to play football but to make contracts even more detailed...

Kellen "ALL I CARE ABOUT IS THIS U, ITS WAR OUT THERE, IM A ****ING SOLIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

My question is how does he hit a curb at 35 in a parking lot? I mean what were his and his friends doing tooling around at 35 in a parking lot. Why not actually go out on the road and go for a ride....

Yeah... and rumormill has it that he wasn't just "riding normally".

He must think he is a "Biker Boy" / "Ruff Ryder" or something.

Well... I guess that wasn't the video of the crash... cause all I saw there was him doing endos.

Maybe Nano should get out there and show him how it should be done.

Typical U of M player

Edgerrin
Shockey
Sean Taylor
Winslow

Not exactly an All-Star list of team players. There have been some decent ones (R. Wayne, Portis), but most of these guys are thugs. Even Ed Reed is threatening to hold out this season.

Almost forgot Ray Lewis, Mr. Puncture Wound himself.

Not questioning their talent...

...just the personality. And Shockey had a great rookie year, but his stats since then? Nothing great. He's in a huge media market, that's why his name is popular.

Miami, unquestionably, turns out the best pro talent. Talent doesn't necessarily equate to wins, though.
