Britney Spears: Almost Bankrupt?
From a snippet off the local radio station entertainment gossip:
I’ve been telling you that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline are experiencing some serious money troubles. Gossip columnists are reporting that she even called her record company to ask for a cash advance on her next CD. When that didn’t pan out, the expecting couple reportedly took out a loan using their Malibu mansion as collateral. They were able to secure $5 million. But they’ll eventually have to pay it back! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- How the rich and wealthy have fallen.

I don't know if this is true or not but if it was I wouldn't be too surprised. Yeah she has made a lot of money over the years but she really does not strike me as someone who would be careful with it. A lot of these celebrities, especially the younger ones, tend to think the money will always be there regardless of how wateful they have been with it.
Watch VH1 and see some of the crap she does with the cash. If you do you would realize that it is only a matter time before she would go broke.

Feh, this isn't all surprising. Most of these "stars" are poorly educated and have been raised by moronic parents bent on making money. As a result they are spoon fed everything in life and have assistants taking care of their every whim. The end result is that they have no concept of control, responsibility, or finance, and often end up blowing their cash on stupid stuff and wind up in Vegas as a crackho.
Some are smart, like Tiger, Shaq (w00t for the MBA man), etc. It's a shame to see people make it but end up pissing it all away. They should learn from Cash, Willy Nelson, Busey, Nolte, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, or any of the numerous child actors that were screwed by their parents (Culken is one among hundreds). I think it was Rock who said "Rich people have spinners, wealthy people own the color Blue". |

Whether or not this is true, if it is, I'm sure cancelling her tour had a lot to do with it. She thought she was sitting pretty and then cancelling loses LOTS of cash. Most artists make the vast majority of their money from tours and sponsorships. The one thing to remember: Britney is still INCREDIBLY marketable.
As soon as she has her children she can work new endorsement deals and tour again... shes a cash cow, 5 million in a loan (if true) is a sure thing.
