Well..i think all of the nerds would work themselves into such a frenzy, that they would probably have a heart attack before they ever saw the outcome.

Therefore, my vote is for #3

voltron easily. Optimus is weak. he got beaten up so easily in transformers the movie.

voltron with the flying hands always finishes off their enemy.

Bah, it doesn't matter, Lord Soth would kick both their buts and still have time to doom a boy-band.

Voltron would destroy Optimus Prime. Five lions > a semi-truck.

I love Lord Soth. The ravenloft books on him were fantastic!

Oh man, I wish they still put out tons of quality Ravenloft

As bad ass as Optimus is, I don't think he could handle the 5 individual Voltrons at once. I think the better question here is who would win in a battle royale with the Thundercats, G.I. Joe, Transformers, etc.

yeah... i gotta go with voltron on this one.

optimus has actually been killed once. plus, when voltron pulls out that sword, they always win.

if we're talking about more fair battles in terms of transformers and voltron, it might be better to put voltron up against one of the combined transformer robots, like Devastator or something...

Cool site with some vids to download.

Funny thing is...I don't remember Volton being made with cars and spaceships...these clips are Voltron...but not the vehicles I remember. I remember the lions. Those were cooler.

The vehicular Voltron only lasted about one season... and then they strictly showed the lions. However, based on that listing you linked to, they said that Lion Voltron came first. I guess it wasn't shown in that order when I was young cause I remember seeing the vehicles first.

Pretty much, the 15 vehicles were cooler... just because the 3 teams could "sub group" (they were air, land, and sea...) and each member of the subgroup of Voltron could join together to form 3 vehicles (one airplane/ship, one tank, and one submarine). Then they could break apart and come together as one in Voltron.

However, I guess the developers of the cartoon decided it was too much trouble to maintain 15 ships rather than 5 lions.

Honestly, I still think Starblazers and Robotech were > Voltron.

I think that Voltron and Optimus Prime would destroy each other, thus bringing in the age of Leader One

Oh....my! I had forgotten about the GoBots!

And...btw...Op would so kick Voltron's butt.

He actually has three parts. Roller (a little teeny recon car) and his trailer serperates out into a gun platform.

Yes...I am...SUPERNERD!

Those who say that Voltron has the Sword...Op has the Matrix.

You have to look at comparable sizes, Voltron was MUCH bigger than Optimus in his original incarnation. Now if you were to compare Magnus Prime or whatever the name was for the Optimus version that was the car hauler it might be a bit more fair.

The Lions were the first Voltron, I never heard of any vehicle version.

Additionally, if you want to compare apples with apples, it would be either the constructacons (although the toys were much smaller than the animated version) which was then met with first, the animabots, rescuebots, and then finally the skybots.

When Voltron first came out, I had an imported toy version of one of his contemporaries from Japan. Tons of fun to play with and built out of real metal parts.

I also had I would say 85% of all of the original transformers up to and including the Predabots, Rescuebots, and Skybots. For some reason, altough most of my transformer collection was given away, I still have the skybots, rescuebots, some of the animalbots, some of the dinobots, and a few other random pieces scattered about. Dont know why I never got rid of those few remnants but I have refused to sell them even with large offers for them.

My younger cousin lucked out by getting my huge collection of transformers, Gi-joe, He-man, and unfortunately even a ton of star wars memorabilia. The star wars stuff would have been worth a ton...fortunately I still have all the figures.

Go look at the link that BigJon posted... the vehicles did exist but were only shown for a limited time.

Yes, the lions were first... they just weren't shown first in my local area when I was a kid.

OP had a big gun, voltron had a sword. Never bring a sword to a gunfight.

Besides, as I said before, OP is one entity. With Voltron you had to worry about 5 bratty kids with their stupid problems always walking out on each other.

Robotech was much better than both.
