Not a big shocker, but news nonetheless...LINK

I wouldn't mind if he scrapped the rest of his career . . . In the back of my mind, I have a feeling that he could play this year if he wanted to, he's just hoping that by giving a little extra time, the whole steroid thing will be forgotten in the minds of most.

I thought I was the only one, who found Bonds' timing suspicious. Sterioid testing.......and no more Bonds? |

It is pretty different. Clemens has been on this level for a lot longer. He has always been a high strikeout power pitcher. It is not like this is the first year he is going to win 20 games. He put his name in the record books way back in '85. And he has always been pretty big. Bonds blew up in the late '90s.
So yeah, I think Clemens is different. That said it would not surprise me if something was up - It would break my heart but not surprise. |

There's a world of difference between a power pitcher and a power hitter. Clemens, Johnson, Schilling, and Nolan Ryan all had strong years into their 40s...but like Merlin said, it wasn't like they suddenly had monster seasons once they hit 38. Also, Bonds has a head the size of a bowling ball now. Not that that indicates anything, it's just funny. ![]() |

He can be an @hole, no doubt. But I do like how he handles the press. Those guys are wolves, and he turns it around on them pretty good. I know he and Pedro Gomez have gotten into it a few times... |
