Do you like John Mayer?

I just started listening to "Your Body is a Wonderland" which is probably a few years old. He also has a song called "Daughters" and it's growing on me. I wouldn't have paid any attention to him unless a friend of mine made me aware of his music.

I think the guy has a future.

I'm not a big fan of Your Body is a Wonderland...it's too repetitive for me.

But most of his other songs I really like.

Never really heard his stuff, but he writes a column in Esquire that's sometimes enjoyable. Also, I saw him on the Chapelle show. So, for what it's worth, he seems cool to me.

have been a fan for years. got fantastic pre-sale tickets to his show 2 years ago when he was playing at verizon, but missed it to attend a sorority formal. just purchased pre-sale tickets to his anaheim show on 9/13...thank god i didn't wait--pre-sale tickets were sold out in a few hours.

Not a big fan. He makes me want to run through the halls of my high school and scream at the top of my lungs.

I can understand how some people don't like his voice. It is a little wimpy. But the progressions which he incorporates into his songs are very unique. His guitar style is also interesting and the words to most of his songs are poetic.

Even if he doesn't make it in the future, I can see him writing songs for others.

I kind of liked his music at first but not so much anymore. If you've heard one of his songs you've pretty much heard them all. On top of that he was in very heavy rotation on the local radio stations where I live and that burned me out on him even faster.

I like his music. I like some of his outlook on life and women that he expresses in his lyrics.

I found out last night that John Mayer was only 16 when he recorded "Your Body is a Wonderland".

Regardless of what you think of his music...

...the guy's got a sense of humor. He did a "show" on VH1 or MTV a few months ago that was just, like, "John Mayer's Random 15+ Minutes" sort of thing. In one part, he dressed in a bear's costume and walked around the parking lot of the the venue he was playing at that night. He went around to the fans asking who they were there to see and if the guy was any good. Whne some fans played a few of his own songs for him, he was all like, "Man, his stuff sucks. It's lame. Hope you can get your money back!"

Okay, maybe I'm not doing his show justice, but it was really freaking funny. I swear.

P.S. Jason Mraz rawks my face!

I saw him playing in a Boston club before he went big. He had good stuff then and has real good talent but I don't like how his music is now being marketed as teeny bopper. He can rock out and play some awesome rock tunes on his guitar (he went to Berklee - not to be confused with UC Berkeley) but I feel that his talent's being wasted.

That being said, I like him. I'd like him more if he played music that showed more of his talent.

"That's enough, John Mayer" - anyone get the reference?
