Current music?
I gave up commercial TV about three years ago. Commercial radio soon followed. I have XM radio, but I mostly listen to non-current stuff. I am thus very much behind the times when it comes to music.
Two questions: What are some of your current favorite songs? Do you have any good free (legal!) music I could check out? tia -OC

OC, what kind of non-current stuff do you listen to? That would give me an idea of what kind of current stuff you would be interested in.

Ok, I've had the At The Drive-In - Relationship of Command cd since it was released waaaaayy back in the late 90s, and I've listened to it A LOT lately. I can't stop listening to that cd. (They were popular for about 10 minutes with the song "One Armed Scissor" but had actually released 5 cds I believe.) The sad part is...right after RoC came out, ATDI broke up/split...some guys went and formed Sparta (also a really good band), the rest formed Mars Volta (...I can't stand their music). They went out on a bang though; I've heard all of ATDI's cds and I think RoC is the best one.
I highly HIGHLY recommend the Relationship of Command cd...if you like any alternative music whatsoever, give it a listen. The other band I'm big on now is Breaking Benjamin...I downloaded We Are Not Alone like a year ago and listened to it a whoooole lot and went out and bought the cd because of how good it is. I can also highly recommend quite a few indie bands, namely Built To Spill and Modest Mouse. If you like Modest Mouse but have only heard the Good News For People Who Love Bad News album (Float On, Ocean Breathes Salty), I highly recommend checking out some of their older stuff because it's excellent. The Moon & Antarctica, Building Nothing Out Of Something, Lonesome Crowded West, and This Is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About albums are also great. ![]() |

I keep wanting to post things from the 90's thinking that's current. Ugh! I'm an old fart! An aging hipster! Time goes by so fast

Kelly Clarkson has a very good album surprisingly.
Uhmmm...The Killers have a few good songs. Depends on what your musical taste are so my examples may not mesh with other peoples.
