why do they keep that tradition? I say the two champs should play the thanksgiving games from now on. the NFC game and the AFC game.

Dallas and Detroit were the first two teams to agree to games on Thanksgiving. The NFL has rewarded them ever since by making it a tradition to have them play every year on Thanksgiving.
....also the NFL wants to put Parcells on TV on Thanksgiving so people will feel less fat by comparison.
