Free uncopyrighted music?
I'm trying to use some music in a school project, and they want it to be uncopyrighted. Anybody know any good sources where I can download free uncopyrighted music?

You probably want music that has been released for public use, not stuff that has an expired copyright. Since the copyright has been extended so much, any music without copyright is very, very old.

What kind of music? Maybe you could find a local band that will use some of their stuff (assuming, that the school would be ok with copyrighted music that you have explicit permission to use it)

THanks for the offer DFU. However, I don't even know what kind of music I want. THat's why I'd like to check out a website with a lot of material so I can browse. The music doesn't have anything to do directly with the context of the animation. It'll just be a soundtrack. So really anything will go, but I'd like to browse many options before I decide.
So I guess nobody knows any websites that might provide this "public" music? |

I thought winamp.com had a free uncopyrighted section for garage bands and such...
