Need Satellite radio advice (for car)

Hey guys and gals. Which is better XM or Sirius. I dont care about sports or Howard stern.

Which car reciever should I get, I dont care about portable ones, and I want a nice one.

So when you say receiver, do you mean a new Sat-Ready head unit, or do you mean a standalone unit? Personally, I think XM's look better, but that's a matter of taste.

As far as the service, definately go online and sign up for a free trial of each. I think both of them offer at least a 3 day free trial. Simply put, their different. You need to listen to both of them to be able to determine which fits your tastes better.

How do you do free trial without the equipment?
As far as hardware, i think i want a head unit that supports satalite, intstead of a clunky thing attached in my car.

If you're going for a head unit, then I'd guess equipment is about equal.

Sorry, should have mentioned you can get a free trial of internet streaming, so you can listen to the music selection over the internet.

Also, try to listen to the quality in someone's car. Some people prefer one service or another (I personally don't have that good of hearing)

I too am an XM guy. I don't think there's too much difference. Just check the lineups. For the most part, there's no difference, only a few different channels.

Ok so im going to Best Buy in ... 2 hours to buy a head unit and have them install it.
Any last minute suggestions?

I'm currently on XM (built in on Hondas). I used to have sirius. The sirius playlists and music is tighter. Plus Sirius has BBC Radio 1 which i liked. XM has "shuffle" style playlists so each channel is too broad in music coverage.

For example, a Popular Alternative Rock station (Ch 47 or 54) on xm will have more random music that can span 30+ years that I do not want to hear. They will also play music that is a bit on the obscure side. This is all fine and dandy if it was an "eclectric mix channel", but it isn't. It's supposed to only play popular alt. music. Sirius's Alt Nation (Ch 21) plays mostly newer music that won't be overplayed, but more fitting for a channel.

Another thing about XM that gets me is the fact that the playlist/playback is computer generated. Sirius is hosted by live DJs, lending to a smarter list of music.

If I can somehow integrate sirius into my honda accord, i would switch in a heartbeat back to it.
