I just don't understand hockey anymore
Damn the owners for doing this to the club! Are they trying to drive attendance low enough to move the team?
http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/9195964 I can understand the need to move things around, but they should be focusing on defense and goaltending. The problem with the team is not lack of offense.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BASTARDS ![]() I think it's a bad management strategy. I'd rather they redesign the team around the two best players than turn them into a rookie squad with a cheap salary by selling off the 2 best players. I remember everyong whining when Keenan traded Shanahan for Pronger, but I don't think this deal has any merit. Fvuck the management. Last edited by gwilks98 : 01-30-2006 at 02:59 PM. |

Damn that is bad. I feel your pain. It has been a bad year in hockey for me better than last year, I suppose. Lemieux retired
and the Pens are awful. It was nice to see them beat up on Philly last week, though. |

It's no different from when baseball teams unload when they suck. Except that in hockey, you have a much better chance of rebounding from year to year. In baseball, once you suck, you never get better. See Devil Rays.

The paper put it perfectly this morning: They're going to end up with the best minor league team in the NHL. |

Blues have the worst record in the NHL.
Like 30-12 after last nights win. They should end up with the top pick this year, plus they get a 1st round pick from Carolina for Weight. They're going for younger and cheaper, gwilks...that's the bottom line. Laurie's a big f'n tool who doesn't want to pay for anyone with talent because he wants to get rid of the team; he doesn't care how good or bad they are. Obviously he's too stupid to realize that he should've paid up for some talent so that the team had a winning record, because it's harder to sell a garbage team with no talent and a low bankroll - versus trying to sell a team that has a winning record and talent (with 1 or 2 years on the contracts) of an average salary. Oops. Huge rumors that Dave Checketts is buying the team (announcement to come within a day or so) and another rumor to that is - Pleau resigns. I'd PAY to see Pleau resign; I can't stand the idiot. It's a shame...before the season started I knew the team was toast. Trade away Pronger (stud in the middle of his career) and keep two geezers (Weight and Tkachuk), one of which sucks (Tkachuk). I'm still dumbfounded on that move. Now they lose Weight, and Tkachuk's probably on his way out (at least he SHOULD be, he's a pile of crap)...so, they basically gave up Pronger for no reason is what'll happen in the end.Give the team 3-4 years and maybe they'll start winning cups. Until then...we're better off going to River Otters games 'cause we'll see more talent there. ![]() Last edited by zero2dash : 01-31-2006 at 10:22 AM. |

I wish we were 30-12. (Deep in our hearts, I know that's what we want, but there's no denying the Blues are 12-30.) I'm kinda hoping to win powerball tonight. I'd buy the team outright... |
