McNabb opens his mouth and says something very stupid
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2315565
I think McNabb is a very good QB and a very good teammate and leader. I don't understand why he is firing back at TO now. In addition, some of his assertions appear, IMO, racist. Describing TO's comments as black-on-black crime is ridiculous. I am not a TO fan, but TO comments were responding to something Michael Irvin said so if anything Irvin would be the one guilty of going after McNabb. In the interview, McNabb said that it was a black-on-black crime because TO agreed with Michael Irvin's comments that Philly would be undefeated with Brett Favre at QB (Philly was 4-3 at the time if memory serves me correctly). McNabb went on further saying that he could understand if they had commented that Philly would be undefeated with Vick, Culpepper or McNair as their QB, but it was racist for them to say that they would be undefeated with Favre at QB. If anything, it sounds like McNabb is guilty of making racist comments considering Favre has won a superbowl, has multiple league MVP's and is considered one of the greatest QB's of all time, while the other QB's, while quality QB's, have not experienced near the success of Favre. I just don't understand why McNabb is speaking out about it now. He really stands nothing to gain. It seems like controversy and racism (mostly in comments against him) has followed him around for quite a few years now.

And to think, I believed there was only one moron involved in this whole fracas. Now it looks like we have two.
Hey, maybe Andy Reid can jump in and say something ridiculous. This just gets better and better.FWIW, McNabb should have to answer why he led his team to the brink 4 straight years, yet came home with nothing. Jim Kelly had to deal with the same issue, McNabb should be no different. If T.O. mentioned Favre because he was a white QB, well then that's wrong. If he mentioned him because Favre has managed to win the big one before...well, there's some truth to that.

The most ironic thing about this is that TO didn't make the statement. He just commented on Michael Irvin's statement when asked if he agreed with the statement. Obviously there is a different dynamic involved when considering that Owens was a teammate at the time and Irvin is a commentator but give me a break. |

because he was asked about it. and DM's dad first said the whole B-on-B crime thing. mike and mike on espn thought maybe he said it to take some of the heat off his father.

I guess that would be a good reason.
Maybe I should have read the article. ![]() |
