NBA News: Lakers are back in the playoffs!!!

On a beautiful Easter Sunday, to the chants of, "we want tacos"* and "EMM VEE PEE!!!", the Show cliched a playoff spot. What a difference one year and one coach makes...
Now with one more win, the Lakers will get Phoenix in the 1st round and move on to the 2nd round to beat up the clips or the nuggets. Then on to the Western Conference finals vs. San Antonio.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....ap/index.html
*We get tacos when the Lakers hold opposing teams to under 90 points. Last game I went to (vs. Houston), they gave out the taco coupons.

Other notes:
Lakers blew out the Clippers by 17 points in last/final meeting and split the series 2:2. Clippers aren't playing well and the Lakers are on a roll. The best team in LA is once again the Lakeshow.
Kobe had an amazing year and breaks several records:
-League scoring title and MVP(regardless of vote)
-Lakers points in a single game with 81 (2nd in NBA history)
-62 points in 3 quarters (outscored the entire mavericks team (61) through 3 quarters by himself)
-Had his 7th 50+ point game
-Record for Lakers 40+ point games
-Record Lakers most points in a single season
-Got his signature shoe (Nike finally brought one out with his name on it)
Lamar Odom had back to back triple doubles and just missed one today. He has become Pippen to K8's Jordan.
Kwame has become our center for the forseeable future. He is almost averaging a double double since moving to starting center and his D' has been exceptional.
Luuuuke Walton has shown the most improvement imo. His aggressive smart play is one of the reasons the show is back.
Smush is the # 3 scoring option and has been solid all year. He has been a great find for LA.
The bench has finally started to come together. George and Cook in particular are bringing some badly needed scoring and SV and Ronny Turiaf bring energy. Mckey and JJ are veterans that can help in the playoffs if they get some time on the floor.

GO LAKERS!

Let me just be the first to say thank you to Phil Jackson for keeping the Lakers from getting a lottery pick. I'm perfectly fine with them getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs.

Also, this really was an excellent coaching job by Phil, who I never thought of as a very good coach. The rest of that Lakers roster (except Odom) is pretty much garbage, and he managed to convince them that they were garbage and Kobe was their only chance to win. I would've never believed someone could do that to a team with NBA egos. He'd get my vote for coach of the year.

So what are you really trying to say?

I'm serious about Phil. I really do think he deserves coach of the year. I'm one of the people who never gave him much credit because he always had an incredibly talented lineup (Jordan and Pippen to Kobe and Shaq). Nobody is confusing this Lakers team with a talented lineup. Kobe is a great player and Lamar Odom is good, but most of the rest of the team would have trouble cracking the top 8 on a decent team.

My Clippers still have a better record than your beloved Lakers. They are playing better as a team and in a 7 game series, they will beat your Lakers. Your team is going to be beaten by the Suns and we will advance by beating Denver.

Kings are there as well. Who would have thought that to be possible at the All Star break?

Your clips lost by 17 points last time we played, 1 week ago. If by some miracle your team makes it to the 2nd round... Lakers in 5.

You must be smoking something good. My Clippers are losing on purpose so they could get Denver in the first round. It doesn't really matter since my Clippers are still better.

I don't know, the Clippers seem to have peaked already while the Lakers are peaking... It will be harder for the Lakers to win when the Suns have their full lineup back, but still. And the Clippers have a good chance in going to the second round as they own the Nuggets.

I'm all for more LA teams in the playoffs.

The Suns aren't getting their full lineup back this year. Amare's done after his brief (and silly, if you ask me) attempt at a comeback.

I was at that last season game a couple weeks ago vs the Suns, amazing day at the Staples Center..I love that place, but also cause I discovered that on the upper levels there are huge balconys that are actually behind the huge letters that you see outside of the Staples Center that say "Staples Center" lol....all bright and sunny and a beautiful view knowing the Lakers had the win on lock back inside and everyone out on the balcony It was awesome it was like Laker Heaven, it might also be cause that one 80s song, heaven is a place on earth was playing and that might have made the mood happier, that and madonnas "holiday" lol happy songs
