Cruise, Holmes Have Baby Girl Named Suri
The Tomkitten has arrived. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, the high-profile pair dubbed TomKat by the media, had a baby girl Tuesday, said Cruise spokesman Arnold Robinson. The baby, named Suri, weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and measured 20 inches long, he said.
"Both mother and daughter are doing well," Robinson said in a prepared statement. The name Suri has its origins in Hebrew, meaning "princess," or in Persian, meaning "red rose," the statement said. The baby was born in Los Angeles but the exact location was not disclosed. It's the first child for Holmes, 27. Cruise, 43, has an adopted daughter and son from his marriage to Nicole Kidman. http://www.yahoo.com/s/294660

Er...I'd have to agree there, no offence, KISSQ. I wonder if Tommy ate the placenta and cord immediately after the birth, as he intended? Weirdo. H <----sees antipsychotics in Tommy's future. Voluntary or not. I think I'd have to commit him just for talking about that stuff. |

Good...maybe these two annoying people can go back to their hiding spots and I can stop hearing about their ridiculous relationship and this moronic cult /strikethrough "religion".

I'd rather have Suri than Apple and Moses. Seriously, what's wrong with Gwyneth and her husband? Who knows what they're going to name their next child. Tennis?

well, Suri comes from Hebrew. so does Moses. and theyre not the first celebrity couple to use the name. Actually Mia Farrow and Woody Allen have a son whom they named Moses Amadeus. Another son was named Satchel Seamus. and Apple? Bob Geldof Named one of his daughters Peaches. Another Daughter was named Fifi-Trixibelle, and a third was named Pixie. Or Piper Maru (daughter of Gillian Anderson, from The X Files). Thats even more hoakey since Piper Maru was a 'ghost ship' that an episode of the X-Files was based on. its all ultimately better than Dweezil or Moon Unit.

thanks for the linky. that clarifies a couple of things. still isnt any weirder than the other names mentioned. so basically the name is a variation of the name for 'Sarah'. but dont tell that to TomBombadilCruise. He's gonna go around talk shows again, vocally defending it... ![]() |

I'd never heard the word used but princess doesn't usually come up in conversational Hebrew unless they are referring to a Jewish American Princess.

It would suck to have them divorce and have Suri get caught in an ugly custody battle. You never know.

here's my brand-spankin-new 2 cents worth... i have officially renounced judging anyone for doing anything short of murder in the name of love. love is a freight train... you can get run over, jump out'n the way, or hang on for the ride, but you sure as f*** can't steer it.
20+ years difference? fine. 7th marriage? okey-dokey. suddenly fall in love with someone other than the person you're married to? sh** happens. i won't judge. i mean, feel free to crunch the numbers and speculate as to the likelihood of this or that relationship lasting or crumbling... given his previous divorce, the age difference, and their entrenchment in hollywood, <5 years is a darn good bet, but... i ain't judging, no matter how silly it all gets. because love is an a$$hole with a rotten sense of humor ![]() i like my new attitude. gives me a lot less to worry about ![]()

My coworker told me a story about her friend's husband who was intent in naming their son Harry. I'm not sure if he really loved the name or he was too dense because his son has to live with writing his name Harry Cox all his life.

you'd think they'd wanna save the cord blood for future potential medical uses, plant the after-birth in the soil with a new tree, or even wear a bit of it in a locket. . .something along those lines, but eat it? strange.

Many birthing animals eat the placenta as a matter of instinct. Its full of nutrients, which is good for the mother and her milk, especially since often that is all the mother is going to get to eat for days as her focus is solely on nursing and protecting the newborns. Also, its scent attracts predators, so eating it is a matter of survival.
Luckily, as humans we don't have these complicated issues to deal with. I guess Mr. Cruise sees some kind of symbolic "return to our deeper animal nature" kind of thing going on. But if that were the case it would seem that it should be Katie eating that bad boy, not him. "I love you so much, I want to eat a part of you!" ??? ick. And yeah, naming your daughter Moon Unit is kinda strange. I mean, everybody knows Moon Unit's a boy's name!
