Most Easily Approved Credit Cards for Students?
I'm currently a grad student and I'd like to apply for a new credit card. I work full time during summers, but as of now during the semesters I only have a small amount of regular income from a campus job. I also have a slightly tainted credit history from my foolish undergrad years.
Can somebody recommend any credit card that I would have a chance getting approved for? I don't mind a high APR or low credit limit for now. I just need a credit card. I currently have a checking account with Citibank if that helps at all. I'm considering a "secured" credit card with my bank, but I'd like to try to apply for a regular one before I do that. Will it help my chances if I go to the bank's school branch? Thanks |

Check out Chase. I'm a college student as well and just got another credit card (my other one, through my credit union, doesn't get rewards or anything). The Chase program they are promoting right now has no yearly fee, and the Chase Freedom program seems pretty cool.

The campus should be loaded with offers of credit cards for students. They are a prime target for the credit card companies. Look for the flyers. You should have no problems getting one. Walk into your Citibank branch and they can probably set you up with one right away (it may take a few weeks to get the actual card but they can get the account established).

![]() As long as you sign up with one of the student applications (found every 15 feet or so on a typical campus), you can get just about any card you want. |

I think the Citi Gold / AAdvantage World MasterCard is pretty easy to get. It comes with an annual fee, but it's waived for the first year, and you can upgrade to a different Citi card before then.
The nice thing about a Citi card is you can link it to your bank account (unfortunately not for overdraws, but at least for payment/centralization). |

Citi and Chase should have plenty of student-type cards.

What about the Amex blue card? Amex provides a lot of perks with their cards and I believe that Blue doesn't have an annual fee and is relatively easy to get.
