Thanks GAM!

I would like to thank the GAMs for making this forum available to us. Now that the forum is active I was thinking we could perhaps make a weekly topic and post our comments and have a nice discussion on that topic until the following week when we select a new topic. I am not saying that we can't have other posts, but I think it would be a great idea if we had 1 focus per week.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or if someone wants to start a new thread for the week...

Cool! Thanks GAM and lilbigblue for your push to open this forum. Since I'm a newer person into investing I'm not too sure how to set up a portfolio well. Could that be a topic? What are the limitations to what you were thinking?

I don't think there are any limitations, but any advice you receive on these forums should be researched thoroughly before making any financial decisions. The last thing anybody wants is finger-pointing "but lilbigblue told me to buy that stupid stock"

Is it just me, or is it kind of a sad reflection on society that we need a disclaimer 3 pages long so people don't think that one of use recommending a stock is a guarantee.

Anyway, thanks GAM! (And lilbigblue for the idea!)

You wouldn't believe some of the SEC's rules. At some point in the near future, all communications will be required to be logged. As it stands now, IMs must be logged by NASD firms. It doesn't affect my company (yet), but there's rumblings about that being required for all other firms as well, in addition to all email being archived.

Thanks GAM for doing this. Just to let everyone know, I cannot make any statements regarding the finances or other information that could be construed as insider information about the company I work for in this forum otherwise I could be fired. I can generally assume that everyone who also works for a publicly traded company knows these rules as well. Considering Mrs. Kevster is currently out of work and I'm solely supporting our household at this point, losing my job would be a very bad thing.

I just noticed this forum. Excellent idea.

I posted a few comments about the past history of the market in the diaolgue with Legend Killer in another thread a few days ago. Maybe I will Copy and Paste it later if the topic comes up.
