Student Intesest Rates Going up Close to 2%

I used to work for a student loan company, and interest rates based on the May 31st treasury rates are probably going to go up about 2% on July 1st. Here is my tip if you have a Stafford Unsub loan. You can call up your student loan company and put yourself in repayment. Then you can consolidate your loans and ask for an in school deferment. This is no different than being in school with the Stafford unsub loans except you ensure that your rate is fixed. Also one other thought is that consol rates may no longer be fixed when reauthorization takes place. IMO
