Will the Fed Keep Raising Interest Rates?
I figured it was a "given" that the Fed would keep raising interest rates monthly for about three more months. But the media and other authorities think that it may pause for an indefinite period and wait to see what happens within the American economy.
Any ideas?

I have heard from people in the market that there will be another small increase coming up and then it will stop. The curve has flattened quite a bit.

from the LA Times:
"Stocks Move Higher on Greenspan's Comments By MICHAEL J. MARTINEZ, AP Business Writer NEW YORK — Investors encouraged by a bullish outlook from Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan sent stocks sharply higher Tuesday, but stocks gave up some of their earlier gains in a spate of profit taking. In midafternoon trading, the Dow Jones industrial average rose 62.67, or 0.6 percent, to 10,529.70. The Dow had been up more than 111 points earlier in the session. Broader stock indicators also gained ground, but like the Dow, they were off their session highs. The Standard & Poor's 500 index was up 5.58, or 0.5 percent, at 1,203.09, and the Nasdaq composite index gained 1.56, or 0.1 percent, to 2,077.32. In a speech broadcast at a meeting of central bankers in Bejing, Greenspan said the economy would remain strong, even as global long-term interest rates are low, and intimated that the Fed could soon stop raising the nation's benchmark rate, at least for the short term. He also encouraged China to unpeg its currency, the yuan, from the U.S. dollar; some investors believe the yuan has unfairly weighed on the greenback in international markets. "
