I got over that "game" pretty quick. You either don't play it or make it your life. Unfortunately I just wanted to play it every once and awhile and it didn't work out for me.

I don't game at all save for the very rare hand of Spider Solitaire (2-3 times a year at most...)
I'd throw my PC off a cliff before involving the Geek Squad with it in any way, tho... |

Well...that's what made this "game" different...it's more of a Matrix or giant virtual chatroom/world instead of a game.

Yeah, minus buying and selling junk, do you actually DO anything in the game? I assume you don't have "Quests" and such like a typical RPG. |

Well...because the place is a virtual "make anything you want" there are tons of different things you can do.
Some people just like the "chatroom" aspect of it. They dress up a character and just chat with other folks. You can go to clubs, parties, dances, bars, malls, etc. and do anything imaginable. Some folks like to pretend that it's a REAL world and they get really into it. They're the ones that will ignore you if you treat SecondLife as a game. They call themselves by their game names and pretend that there is no such thing as real life. I hung out in the RPG areas. You can RPG..but not in the sense of building up points and leveling up. Instead, it's more like telling a big story written by many different authors. I was in the Star Wars RPGs. They have all the costumes, armor, weapons, and ships from the movies and games. The disadvantage that I found was that if I didn't get into the RPG game every day...I would miss out on tons of stuff. So everytime I logged back in I had to play catch-up. It is worth checking out...when you get in...just go teleport to different areas on the map. (BTW...the map is HUGE. About the equivalent of a couple of US states if you wanted to walk from one end to another. Here are some photos from my "travels" in SecondLife. Last edited by BigJon : 04-05-2007 at 07:31 AM. |

No way I'm doing this... I already have a "second life" inside of City of Heroes/Villians.
![]() I just don't have that kind of time.... ![]()
