Rock Band

Ok, so I finally treated myself to Rock Band. I have Guitar Hero III for the PS2 so when I bought Rock Band I got the PS2 version and not the wii version. I don't know if they're different or not.

On Sunday I completed my rock tour on the easy level and so far I've completed two songs from the medium level.

Is anyone else playing?

I didn't think the base would be as tough to use as it is. I can play the drums in real life so I thought that using the drum kit with the game would be easy peasy.... not so much.

How do you like Rock Band compared to Guitar Hero?

I've gotten through about half of the songs on hard drums (plus about 15 downloaded songs). I've completely stopped playing guitar hero.

I think im going to wait for GH IV which will have a drumset and other items, the drumset has more things to do with it, and just seems a bit cooler and more like drums.

I wish Activision would just go to open source so the guitars would be interchangable for Wii, PS3 and xBox

The play method is much the same. Play these songs, unlock these cool-ish things.

The notes are scolling upwards like GH does.

I had to manually calibrate the drum set, but that was no big deal.

Awww, dude. Really?

I had no idea that GH IV would ship with drums and such.

Drats.

I hope that the GH IV game disc is compatible with Rock Bands equipment. It will be uber sucky if it isn't.

I have been playing Rock Band exclusively for the past few months. I like being able to play a 15 minute session after work and bang out the frustration, then move onto something else.

I am 55/65 songs on Expert for drums (the main reason I bought Rock Band). Snare rolls are the bane of my existence...

Any idea when GH IV will come out? I would assume Christmas, at the earliest... so it would be a long way aways.

they're saying fall for guitar hero 4.
and yeah, it would be nice for them to play nice and be compatible with each other.... too bad they probably won't. - it has an the symbols for a total of 5 pads, vs 4 on RB.

I like how it's wireless though. wish they'd make one more collapsible so that it doesn't take up the whole living room.

I know it's a little bit insane, but I recently ordered one of these: http://omegapedal.com/index.html

Although I've been playing GTAIV more than rockband lately.

I ordered Rock Band for my PS3 on monday...should be getting it tomorrow! Wooot! Hurray for Reward Points. Although, AMEX's rewards kind suck now...everything costs too many points.

So I got my pedal a couple weeks ago. It is a night and day difference improvement over the stock pedal. I've got a ton more control over the timing of the kicks, and now I can nail a lot more of the quick double kicks.

I was going to get the Wii Version, but that was before Guitar Hero World Tour was annouced and it does everything Rockband for Wii doesn't to. Has downloadable content, online play, character creation I think, etc. Plus I don't have to have two sets of instruments since they do not work with each other. So since I have two guitar Hero guitars, it's GH over RB for me.

Rock Band came in last night. Wow. Lotta fun. Was up til midnight with the wife singing/playing tunes. Looks like we'll be doing some more of that tonight. HAHA. Good times.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Band_2

at this point in time, I would wait for Rock Band 2, which is slated to be released for the Xbox360 this September.

improved instruments, and full compatibility w/ Rock Band 1, including all DLC, amongst other improvements and additions that they're adding to the game.

It sounds very solid. Oh the best part: White Wedding. Hells yeah!
