Warning: RTCW virus in patch 1.3
I just downloaded the 1.3 patch from a link off of www.idsoftware.com
After installed it, the game froze on me and then I rebooted. When my computer restarted Norton caught a backdoor trojan type virus that was installed in my RTCW folder. Anyone else have problems>\? |

Wow, Im glad i've been away from the computer too long to download that patch.
Although, I checked a few sites and there is no news on any messageboards or news posts about a Trojan with the patch. If you didn't already, get rid of it and try to re-install the patch. If the Trojan returns...let us know please. ![]()

I got the file through RTCWCentral.com
but I haven't unistalled it yet...they have punkbuster or something installed on it. So I don't exactly how to uninstall it yet unless I uninstall the whole game and reload it. Oh well...game freezes sometimes but I think it's a computer issue instead of the patch. My concern is that my computer may be sending out info I without me knowing. I have Norton AntiVirus 2002 btw. |

punkbuster? Last time I heard, PB was a client-side anticheat program for counter-strike. Maybe RTCW is incorporating it into their patches to stop people from cheating and your AV thought it was a virus.
