Old Folks and Gaming...

So how many of you bad butt gamers have parents or even grand parents that game?

My mom, who is above the 50 mark (sorry ma!) is a big time gamer! Heavy into the RPG's and more recently starting to try out FTP's.

She started simple in the 80's with the old Tetris on NES. Eventually got her own Game Boy then it all went down from there! Now she games on her PC and PS2 and you don't DARE get in her way!

My wife's dad is big into the FTP's and flight games to the point where he feels the need to upgrade his PC everytime there is a new and better game out! SHEESH!

My dad plays football and boxing video games because they are easy, although he has kinda stopped playing football games because they are getting to hard (for him.)

I think even the Atari's joystick and 1 button confused my parents. They'd be quite lost today.

Talking Good ol' Dad.

I played AppleII games (Drol, Mario Bros, Conan, Bruce Lee) for some time as a kid, but my Dad got me started with PC games. It happened to the be same summer (93) that I used a 486 to process nuclear radiation data and write "email" to some professors at different colleges. For those of you writing email back then...remember...no uppercase, very little punctuation (but I digress)

Anyway, my pop had Civilization and later in the summer, Dune2. I was hooked, and between writing email and lab analysis on my lab PC and playing Dune2 and CIV on my Dad's PC, I was hooked. My Dad still plays games quite often. He has an XBOX and PS2 too.

Wierd to believe that it will be ten years this summer.

If you are going to work on the games page, it's FPS. Ma knows nothing about File Transfer Protocals.
