Lightbulb Nifty New Acc for GBA...

Apparently this went on sale last Friday. I'm getting a GBA (and afterburner and F2A) this Christmas. This thing *sounds* really great. (It'll give me something to do with the smartmedia card I don't use anymore too)

sorry that is kinda off topic but when the power indicator light turns red, that means that it's low on battery right? i'm just a little concerned cuz i changed my batteries not too long ago and the red light just came on...

Ya...I'll have to buy it from Hong Kong like my Flash cards. It's $50 now...I wonder if it will drop soon...I may have to choose between MOO3 and the game wallet.

Tis true, but alas MOO3 has missed another gold date and has slipped into the realm of Nuke Dukem Forever's black hole of "it-will-be-done-when-it's-done-so-stop-asking".

id say go with the game wallet first. if you remember the doctor gb, nintendo had liksang.com shut down because of it. that was thier main product at the time. the game wallet looks like you can take downloaded roms transfer them to a smartmedia card and play them on your gameboy or copy gba roms and distribute them over the web

If I had a GBA, I would most definitely buy one of these things if the module itself was a wee bit smaller. I would be extremely impressed if they could somehow manage to fit the "game wallet" into a module that is the same shape and size as the regular GBA game cartridges. It would still accept SmartMedia cards but it wouldn't be so overbearingly bulky (and ugly).

And then use those meager millions to pay off the attorney fees when nintendo reams you, hehe.

I ordered one...

...I can't wait for Christmas! I'll have a GBA, Metroid, GSun, Flash2Advance, 128Mb card, gamewallet, and afterburner.

The game wallet programs the flash2advanced. You can store game info/roms on smartmedia then program the flash cartridges, which are a lot more expensive.

The games are 8, 32, and 64 mega*bit* (8 bits=1 byte). The cartridges are 64, 128, and 256 megabit, so the larger carts can hold multiple games with a small loader program. Since the smartmedia cards are 64,128,256,512 mega*bytes* they can hold a lot more stuff.

8 64Mb games can fit on one 64MB smartmedia card.

I very much doubt the games can be run off the smartmedia card. Currently, the biggest commercial games are 64Mb, but Golden Sun2 and LOTR TT are 128Mb.

No need for emulators, the GBA runs the programming material as though it was a normal cart. As far as getting programming material, I can't give you info here...but...uh...cough..p2p...cough...
