Diablo 2 like game (everquest)

I am a huge diablo 2 lord of destruction fan. I want to start a new game like diablo. I was thinking of everquest. If anyone here plays everquest, let me know what I have to have to get started, like what games/expansions packs. I want to play the game fully, so let me know everything i need.

Also, if you know of another game like diablo 2 that is as fun, let me know!

THANKS!

Dungeon Siege. Everquest is for people with no real life social skills and skin problems.

Second. I love that game. The single player game is easily >25 hours. I tried playing the multiplayer games, but there are too many ultrapowerful players that kill all the monsters...need to get hooked up with friends with the same level chars.

Also, you should be able to get it around $10-15 at half.com and www.gogamer.com

NO! STOP RIGHT THERE!

Trust me, don't buy evercrack!

Especially this late in the game, you will be nothing but a "newbie", and get no pity from the og's of the game. Plus, you would not only have to buy the original game, but the 50 expansions they have released to get the "full" game.

Dont get me wrong, I loved Everquest when it came out(played for 2 years, or I mean camped spawns for 2 years. ), as it revolutionized the MMORPG industry. Even though some people hate it, it changed the game industry for ever! Not only did it stop the domination of UO as the leading online game, but set the standard for the genre its self.

Now with that, it is outdated! That is why you might want to either get SWG (star wars galaxies), or wait for Horizons, or perhaps Everquest 2! I personally stoped playing SWG because lack of time to maintain my in-game character, but am waiting to play Horizon and EQ2 (great graphics, watch the e3 videos). I also talked to the lead art designer of World of Warcraft at a college near my area, and he said it is "better" than SWG will ever be!

Everquest is on the bottem of the totem pole now along with UO, as they are out dated. If you "have" to have a game now, I would get Star Wars Galaxies, as it is fun, entertaining, and has alot to offer to the gamer, or Star Wars fan. The space expansion looks awsome also!

But what ever you do, DONT buy Everquest! Would be a total waste of money, and a bad investment of time this late in the game.

Have fun! Warcraft 3 is always good

(note: when I did talk to the lead art designer of WoW, I asked him about a Starcraft 2? He said he couldnt release any information "as of yet"......so I suspect its in the works )

The new Ultima online looks good. It a fast paced MMORPG based on the unreal engine. UXO could be a winner.
