Where to buy poker chips?
Not video game related, but I figure it goes here...
Does anyone know a good place to buy poker chips? I'm looking for this exact kind: http://tinyurl.com/2mofl I have 25 of each color (125 total) and a 300 chip case, so I just need the spare chips. What's a good, reliable place? Also, what's the correct ratio of chips in order to play correctly? |

I bought these over the holidays and have been happy with them. They aren't the best of the best, but they are way better than the cheap platic ones. My experience with them is that they could use some more white chips, but they will work well for seven card stud games of up to 7 players. If you are playing Texas Hold-Em with more than 7, you might run into trouble.

my friend bought them straight from the source:
definitely not the cheapest...but pure clay beats the metal core chips any day. |

I have the target chips also. They are actually pretty nice chips for the price. It would be nice if they had a little more weight to them, but if you don't want to spend a lot, they are the way to go.

If you are going to play for money there is no way to go except to buy the real deal.

They have those EXACT poker Chips (Gear02) at Wizards of the Coast.. and their other Game store that I forgot the name of .. But they are closing down.. if not already.. so I would hurry and find one .. they had everything on sale last I saw.. I got them a lot cheaper.. but.. like i said.. im on deployment.. and have no idea if they are still open or not ..
Also.. For Ratio.. as far as I know.. it depends on how many you want.. If people are paying to play.. then enough that they can buy the amount they want to use.. if not .. then how ever many you want to give each person.. I have uhmm a Whole Lot of them.. .. I believe they come in sets of 50 at Wizards.. so .. I have like 1 Black 3 Blue .. 2 Red.. 1 White.. or something like that which = 350 chips or so Last edited by Thesifer : 02-11-2004 at 03:04 PM. |

two places for chips
1. Wizards of the Coast/Gamekeeper. Cheapest because they are going out of business. 2. Go to a casino and buy them for $1 each. Then take them home. When you're done, return them. Can't beat the price (time value of money). Which at these current interest rates is about 1%. |

I didn't know they made their one dollar chips out of clay. I thought they were using those silver dollar ones.
