Yeah sounds like it. They need to make it multiplayer this time for sure. That would be so much fun.

I hope they make the multiplayer an option, but I also hope they keep the Single Player.

If anyone missed them, you can DL Wild Metal and the original GTA at Rockstar for signing up for their mailing list

http://www.rockstargames.com/classics/

Large files, but worth it for a little old school action.

I was thinking more like san francisco. But I remember playing the original gta and it had a city called san andreas. The layout had names to sf areas and a golden gate like bridge. But there were some parts that sorta were more like LA, so it was sort of a mix of the two cities. Who knows, I can't wait to play it.

Oooh yeah, multiplayer. They need entire missions for coop multiplayer, so you can get a bunch of buddies into a car, and do insane drive-by shootings, and even shoot out the back window to take out the cops chasing you. That would be sweetness... I mean, shooting your buddies is great, but it's very hard to beat good coop action.

oh hells yea! you can even take it a step further where one buddy is the "lock man" and another is the "driver" and another is the "explosives specialist" ... kinda like that one mission in vice city, except you've got real people playing as your buddies!

New screenshots. Same link as above.
San Andreas is half LA and half San Francisco.

I look forward to this.

Oh NICE!!! All those gangsters about to blow some sucka away looks promising (I'm hoping it's a multiplayer shot ). Also, that bike shot is cool... they had motorcycles in vice city, why not bmx's? Very nice, I like how it's progressing.

"San Andreas is not a city - it's a state." Those words from Rockstar's Dan Houser more than anything ought to inspire the Grand Theft Auto loving crowd (which is 95 per cent of us, judging by the sales figures). Comprising Los Santos (Los Angeles) where you start out, San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturra (Las Vegas), it's an epic environment allegedly six times the size of Vice City, unlocked gradually over the course of the game, and besides the cities it also features all the roads in between, allowing you to race through the desert, countryside, and even over a mountain...

sounds intriguing....

They might just be making this too much of a sim now. If you gotta do stuff like eat and work out, it might just get too complicated for a cartoony violence game. Isnt that what GTA was all about?

I'm hoping that workout and eating thing is optional. They didn't make it seem that you HAD to eat... just you could; and in realistically modelled restaurants!!

I also hope you can turn off the variable AI, which makes it easier if you fail multiple times. As difficult as some of VC was, I'd still like to know I played through the entire thing instead of playing watered down parts of the most difficult sections.

I hope this game doesn't become bloat-ware. I mean cool stuff is awesome, but overdoing it can just make it tedious.

Shoveling this one because the day is coming soon (Oct. 1st last I heard). Anyone gonna preorder this one or get it when it comes out? I think I might but I am a little wary. I have wasted months of my time already on the earlier versions.

By the way the website has been updated, with a couple of nice movies as well:

This one's iffy. I do'nt know exactly what they're gonna change. I really hope they update the graphics, although I highly doubt it since the PS2 and XBox wouldn't really be able to handle it (I play it on the PC). I also hope they add some new element to the game instead of run missions and shoot. Better control for the guns would be good too.

I was reading about some of the new feautures over at ign a couple weeks ago. They say all the lighting is redone and looks great (big upgrade visually for PS2 I believe they said) and you can journey up a large mountain and have a great view from the top of it.

As for gameplay changes they mentioned that the character will have to learn many things, particularly shooting weapons.
At first he won't be able to shoot very rapidly or reload as fast or keep his accuracy while firing, but eventually you learn to use two weapons at once. Another large upgrade mentioned was that of the vehicles.

The vehicles are all supposed to have lifelike physics, from the riding lawn mower you can steal to an 18 wheeler. To make money you can take a job driving the 18 wheeler (with its supposed real handling and physics) doing missions and delivering some not so legal things....that sounds pretty cool.

Look at the previews/reviews/updates from gamespot... should tell you all you need to know. http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/gta4/previews.html

Basically, if youre too lazy to read, I think this will be close to one of the best games to date, if you're into this type of game that is...
