Log out of steam completely. Shut it down. Then restart steam and log back in. That usually does the trick for moi

haha yea, steam is a pain in the arse if you ask me!
 Reason it took me so long to log on few days ago was because it was loading a "valve evaluation" poll. It would keep locking up, so I had to shut down, restart, shut down restart....repeat 15x's...finally loaded the poll, and I was like wtf! thats the whole reason why I went through all this torture? was to be asked to vote on a poll? Of course I clicked no and got alot more head shots on CS than I have done previously  stupid steam.... when will they ever get it right. p.s. when ever I close it, and restart, I have to reboot my comp, because it says steam is already runing if I dont
