*Played* StarTrek and StarWars. Got out of CCGs when I left college quite a while ago. Sold the SW cards at a profit; still have the ST cards.
The thing about CCGs: if you don't have a group of ppl that are as strapped for cash as you are, they're no fun, because all the spoiled twelve-year-olds will have a complete set of all the rare cards there are. College was a blast, because we were all poor. ![]()

well my group of long time friends got me in to L5R and it's beena blast, one of my friends is better off money wise then the two of us, and well since I am still learning it is fun. L5R is like chess so more strat then MTG. Haven't had a bad game yet, as not all the rares help one of the TEN clans

Still got my SWCCG cards. Maybe if I hold onto them long enough I'll be able to get some money back on it...
I'll still play with my friends a bit if we can, its been awhile. we're almost even in the whole rares so its still fairly balanced. its all in how you build and play the deck . |

I liked SW:CCG Decipher.. But then LucasArts screwed up and went with Wizards of the Toast.. And it Ruined the game in my opinion.. Decipher had an original Good Idea.. I have some magic cards but really only learned to play about 4 months ago.. At 22.. I think im a little late in the learning curve.. But its fun to collect things.. so I have a lot of those.. and 6 boxes of unopened SW:CCG Decipher Reflections III (I think? Or I) .. Cant remember.. they are at home.. if Anyone is interested lol..

I bought a grip of SW the original CCG as an investment....
I don't even remember what I did with most it. Bad investment... very, very bad investment. About 6 or seven boxes worth btw. -jel ![]()

I played the Sim City game a couple of times, but I didn't have any friends who had any cards, and I only had like one full pack and two booster packs, so I was pretty strapped for cards and couldn't share to play a multiplayer game.
On a side note, I remember a few years back all the little kids (maybe 8-13 y.o) would collect all those pokeman cards and go buy the individual expensive ones at the store, and they'd never play the actual game. That always puzzled me.

I don't play any CCGs these days. I played Magic from about '92-97, Marvel Overpower from '96-97, Pokemon in '99... I think that's it. Terrible investment, but I was just a kid. And it was fun because my friends had about the same (small) amount of cash to throw around. Each time though, I quit because the card companies printed new sets faster than I could keep up with (given the financial situation). It seems like every quarter they come out with a new set (and in Magic's case, each set brings its own new rules and effects). Just hard to keep up. More recently (a little over a year ago) I played Marvel Heroclix briefly... it's pretty much like a 3-D CCG (small figures instead of cards). Another bad investment. And now I sit in the penalty box and feel shame. [/slapshot]

I have a stack of Magic cards circa 94 in pretty good condition, I wonder how much they're worth.
