Hurray!! Just when I'm drooling over all these ps2 only games, there's a nice price drop. my only fear now is how much longer the ps2 platform will survive after this summer. Isn't PS3 supposed to happen in 2005?

i dont think so
the ps3 is far from us sony said thell still sell the ps2 until 2010 and that new processor tech isnt ready yet for mass production plus the blue disk isnt ready yet too the ps3 will com out in probebly the next 3-4 years

hmm... I think gear02 has a better argument. If Sony waited another 3-4 years for PS3, that would be something like 7-8 years between the PS2 and PS3 release. No way people will continue using an 8 year old console. Even the xbox and GC have significant more processing power over the PS2 and they're not that much newer than the PS2. And the technology doesn't have to stop PS3 dev or production; i mean, they're selling HD's and network adapters w/the ps2 now right? they could just do an incrememntal release with the ps3 as well.

i still dont think so
next year will just be the specs for the system it probebly wont come out until x-mas 2006. since the specs arent out yet that means the system isnt cost affective yet pluse there are a bunch of great games comin out for all the systems it would be a waste to let those games got to wast when the ps died there werent good games comin out for it no company has talked about makin the games for the system because no emulators have been developed yet a system cant become functional and cost affective in just one year
