Not to be the nay sayer... but didn't the last Zelda look really cool, only to be changed into the cartoony version? Nevertheless, I loved Ocarina of Time, so I hope this one comes out looking like these shots. My only complaint of the trailer was the music... i think it needs a change of some sort. When I heard it, I thought of Ocarina.

You mean the last N64 zelda? Yeah, Nintendo then showed the young, cartoony link and everyone went bezerk, until people ACTUALLY played Wind Waker. If you actually played it, you would have found that the young link was no problem. That game was really gorgeous and well done. I don't think anyone who played didn't like that game.

I'm still waiting for Wind Waker to drop to $20. I'm cheap.

I liked the cartoony graphics.

Wind Waker (the cel-shaded one) was GC not N64.

well duh...you said "but didn't the last Zelda look really cool, only to be changed into the cartoony version" which I took to mean last zelda = Orcarina of Time since the last zelda was Wind Waker.

actually... that was me. but I did mean the last GC zelda. I mentioned Ocarina as a way of saying I'm a fan of the series and am hoping they don't change up the graphics on this one too (but it's good to hear the last one was a good game despite the cartonny graphics).

You haven't played Wind Waker?? You really have to. It's a brilliant game.

All good, nothing to be sorry for. It's easy to confuse posters in a long thread (just recently I misquoted ray/civic in one of the sports threads), and I understood your point of view.

Hi gear02, tell me what's so "brilliant" about it? I hate this game so much because I have loved every other Zelda game so much, and it has nothing to do with the graphics. Here's why:

1. Map gimmick. The map is huge, but I think the actual gaming area is tiny because most of the terrain is water. I just got bored riding on the ocean five or more minutes at a time getting to destinations. It just got BORING.

2. NPCs. Did you notice you have to talk to all NPCs twice to get all their information? I know in some games, it's like a puzzle, where you have to talk to CERTAIN NPCs twice, but this game it's EVERY NPC. It just felt so repetitive, like they wanted to make the game longer.

3. I love to explore, to finish stuff out of order from what the game developer expects. This is the only Zelda game I can remember where you can't go places because the stupid boat will not allow you to go there. Most other zelda games, you are limited only because you lack certain items.

4. Everything is so repetitive. Example, when you get the grappling hook, they design the level so you have to use it over and over and over...too much. When I play the game, I just felt delayed, like the game developer was trying to prolong the game with gimmicks, like the map, and the repetitiveness, and the all animations that you have to do over and over again but you can't skip them.

I dunno, I've finished every Zelda game except for this one.
