Hopeless addiction to minesweeper

I've been trying to get a sub-79 score at that game for the last two and a half years. I knew that as soon as I did I could quit playing it for good, and that helped to justify all the time that I spent trying to. But I was terribly mistaken! I beat my score finally but my addiction has only grown worse! Any suggestions?

I think the best I've gotten on the expert is 59 seconds. Cheesy's is 54. But...I did get 2 seconds on the beginner one! (WAY lucky!)

I don't think this'll stop anything though - the better you idiot-proof a system, the more impressive the idiot becomes.

It's a wonder to me that your brain is so simple that you equate posting to professorship. It's a wonder that others such as ufcrusher is a lawyer I suppose then. Or attgig is a software programmer that went to a very good school or that heaven forbid DarkFury (someone who posts more than any of us) works for our government! I guess nickel is the worst dental hygentist you'll ever meet. Yeah... I guess that makes you a NASA engineer since you post so little...

Your statement is completely without merit. I look forward to how you are going to defend what I quoted above. Don't try to make this into a name calling contest... I will not parse any of those statements. Just stick to what you typed.

Sorry for pulling you into this attgig, ufcrusher, nickel and DF.

*yeah ... posting 5.16 posts a day makes me a serious neffer... yeah...*

I believe there is a pile of potatoes in the back waiting for you.

I did nickel... but usually I guess I stop when I feel like I did well enough... such as Civ2 and Civ3... stopped when I won at diety.

As for minesweeper... I did the basic level and quit when I finished in 6 seconds.

But to each his/her own.

hmm, looks like i hit a soft spot.

i guess i have this "pre-conceived notion" of a professor and what professors "should" be like, that is, one who doesnt constantly ask silly questions, one who will RTFM, one who knows how to click "Search" or type www.google.com, or one who does not "almost consistently" answers in a five-word single-line sentence that .....

ah hell with it. Thats me giving up trying to argue/validate/defend/debate any issue (if there even is one) that has arisen off of bs's diatribe. besides, i'm just trying to be a smart-ass, as always. 99% of my posts are never meant to be taken seriously. and people who do takes things seriously, just remember. Its the ****ing internet. Really.

and yes, i do see myself as a NASA engineer (b/c in reality, you are pretty close to being right about that)

Bah... my rant is over... I won't have another one for a year. You were just the convenient outlet. No hard feelings but I'm up working on an important paper and needed some release.

Keep in mind though if you ever take a class of mine, I'll have to fail you.
