Say What You Will About Doom's Graphics...

...Far Cry still looks DAMN good. Here are two screen shots I took today. Too big to be directly posted so click the links.

I think i like Far Cry better. As a game it was a lot of fun, the bad guys were a challenge to fight against and you could see forever.

I am only a bit through doom atm, so i can't give a full review... But the graphics in that are amazing as well but the main thing that Doom 3 does well is the lighting. The lighting effects in doom are amazing. Gameplay wise though far cry takes the cake easy.

Both have great graphics, far cry was just a better game though.

I am still waiting for HL2

lighting is leaps and bounds ahead of Far Cry in Doom 3, but I thought Far Cry was more fun to play.

I dont like the "cartoony" look of farcry...
Half-Life 2's gritty, grainy, real-life look is where its at!

I installed Far Cry today and was completely unimpressed by the graphics. I have same system as you Cant, what are your settings in Far Cry?

I think the biggest difference w/Doom are the facial expressions & character detail. They did a great job there.

However, as nice as it looks, I found myself switching back to UT2K4 this weekend for some multiplayer. The single player of Doom is OK, but it just doesn't hold my attention like some good multiplayer action can.

I have it at 1024, every detail on high, every optional thing turned on except v-sync. Indoors the game is not very impressive, Doom looks 10,000x better. But outdoors, Far Cry has some breath taking moments.

Probably the CDs/DVD..Music is more enriching Plus it has more replay value..Doom3 will only be cool the first time around (for me at least)..Plus your CDs/dvd will play perfectly..Doom3 might not run awesome..its a tossup tho
