Side scrolling/top scrolling shooters
i was playing GC's Ikaruga at a friends house the other day. it made me nostalgic of old school shooters like this...raiden, 1942, etc. are there any out like this game for the xbox or computer?

Its not 2d, but it is a shooter and its damn good. Panzer Dragoon Orta. I highly recommend it.

Einheinder for playstation. Traditional 2D shooter with a 3-D style. I never played that Contra game for ps2 but I read good reviews.

contra is fun..but difficult to beat but i need something for the xbox. |

Metal Slug 3 would probably be your best bet. That one is in the top 5 Arcade shooters of all time. It's a traditional 2d side-scroller.
