I started over again. I made a paladin on Dunemaul. I wasn't sure if I liked my rogue or not.

Great.

So I'm using my desktop until the 1GB of RAM comes tomorrow for my new laptop. We get in there, get her to 36%, everyone dies. Okay, let's try again.

*click* *click*

Hard drive is about to crap out. I'm frantically backing up my files ATM <sigh>.

I'm the slowest player evah!!! It takes me 2 days to level and I'm at level 24 I think. I still haven't picked out a profession or skill. The cooking ones seem like a waste since I am a priest. Maybe I should look into engineering or something.

Well...everyone should at least try to have cooking, first aid, and fishing since they're secondary skills and you have no limit as to how many you can have. It's always helpful to have some food, plus it's fun to cook

As for primary for a priest, it's really up to you. Engineering is a money drain and will do very little for a priest. Maybe do herb/alch since priests need mana potions.

Go with alchemy, because tailoring would be silly for you at this point, and you can always get better armor at the AH. With alchemy, even if you don't use the potions, you can sell them at the AH for a modest amount of cash.

Yeah tailoring is just so so.. the only real goodstuff you can craft is from mooncloth. and thats had a 4 day cooldown to create 1 piece of it, so if you are doing it on your own you'd have to wait a month or more to actually make 1 piece of mooncloth anything.

Alchemy is always good, as a priest you will find yourself using tons of mana potions so if you can make them yourself then that'll help out a lot. also transmutations are always in need. Can charge 5g for an arcanite transmute every 48 hours.

Onyxia is tough, stage 1 is pretty easy, basically the tank should be the only person getting hit if everything goes well. Stage 2 is not so bad, she's flying around and what not, just gotta stay spread out or the deep breath will kill everyone. She should land between 36-40%, and if everything is done right everyone should still be alive.

The HARDEST part is the transition from stage 2 to stage 3, and getting the tanks aggro and positioning. Also at 5% she starts to do way more damage and really hurts, thats when all heals are on the tank and you let the rest of the people die
Sucks wiping at 1% or 3%, which we have done a couple times. But we can pretty much kill her every week now.

If ya want more in depth strategies PM me and i can let ya know.

2 days to get to level 24 is not slow at all. It took me about 2 weeks, playing about 1-2 hours a day to get to level 24. Guilds are nice, as they help you level up fast if you have a high level player help you with instances, etc.

I used to feel this way but now with the honor system and people gankin people left and right, I think everyone is concerned with leveling up. After lvl 20+ and having to do quests in contested territories, your chances are slim esp if you are soloing.

This is the first time I've played on a pvp server, and I hate it. A level 60 character just comes running through the low-level towns and slaughters everyone. It's pointless. PVEs are the way to go. My next character will be on one.

yes thats why playing with a guild on PVP is important. Although I hate getting ganked by the lvl 60 horde guys, i have to admit that PvP is so much fun. I think the honor system is cool but they should only reward kills that are made within 3-5 levels. With the way it works now, lvl 60 guys can go around killing newbies and not have any penalties.

Thats how i feel, thats why i am on a PVE server. its not really PVE, just PvP when i want it, not when some idiot decides to gank me. With the new honor system there is PvP going on all the time at TM and at XR. And with the next patch there will be 2 battlegrounds going on, that should be fun.

PvP servers would suck for lvling up, all those gankers everywhere.

Agreed - I'm quite happy to be on PvE .. there is plentiful PvP when I want it, but if I just want to be left alone to do quests and explore the world then I have that option

On that note, there is plentiful incentive to go PvP'ing a lot - the honor system w/ the rewards make it much more attractive. That, and being horde there's ALWAYS something major going on somewhere.

If anyone is playing on Cenarius lemme know

I was under the impression that on PvP an enemy cannot attack you unless you attack him first if you are in home territory. Am I wrong? I've ran past several high level enemies and they've never touched me.

You're right. That only protects you in a couple of areas though. The majority of areas are contested, so open season an anyone and everyone.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm running cosmos, but you'll know if you're safe by their tag color. If they're yellow that means you can attack them but they can't attack you first. If they're red, it's time to get ready to brawl. In case you didn't know. Buffing/healing PVP flagged friendlies will also automatically PVP flag you.

Cool, thanks for the low down. I got my first PvP kill today. I saw some random Level 11 Dwarven Hunter outside the Tauren village. My wolf pet tore him apart! haha. Then I realized he was probably just trying to tame a pet...oh well..

actually, cooking is pretty nice to have for any class including priests. You can make food with buffs of stam and spirit which is really nice to have. I would stick with it. And everyone should have first aid maxed out. As for your primary profs, do what you find is most interesting. I've tried all of the professions and in the end they all kinda are fun but mostly just sucky waste of time. I like tailoring though to make mooncloth which is a good money maker on the server i'm on goes for about 15-25g per cloth.

Yeah, but after you get to like level 18+ youll start having quests in contested territories. U can stay in the same area with all friendlies but you wont get any exp points after a certian level. I was thinking of switching to PvE but our guild is on PvP so we will grind it out.

Figures, I ditch Perenolde and an Apexer FINALLY plays there. Jerk. Anyway, go ahead and buddy list me (Mocked- level thirty-something druid). If I ever go back to playing that character, I'll quest with you.

did I screw up. I learned staff and dagger from Woo Ping and he says I can learn two handed mace in IF. So I go over there and it's not an option. Is there a limit on how many additional weapon classes you can learn? Can I unlearn?

Nah, certain classes can't learn certain weapon skills. I'm guessing that's why you can't learn it.

And yes, my name is Mocked. It's also Mocked on Dunemaul, although on Dunemaul I'm a paladin. Perenolde Mocked is a druid.
