This unit from lik-sang was featured on G4TechTV when they were previewing Halo 2, so it has some good credibility.

This is supposed to be the best one. There are other units (one is on review at IGN.com right now) and IGN said this one is better because it is fully customizable. The price seems decent too! I would get one if I didnt think HALO2 was a big mod of HALO1.

I'm guessing Xbox doesn't support USB as a game controller... and also it has the card slot for a microphone/memory card.

I know a guy at work that has one, he seems to like it pretty well. Always gets acused of cheating in Halo 2, because he is so much better with a kb / mouse then controller.

Yep perfect for the Counter-Striking Xboxer. You can turn around a lot faster with a mouse than an analog stick. $30 isn't bad for this kind of peripheral; but it doesn't look like it supports USB keboards or mice.

Microsoft made a xbox keyboard and mouse and other cool ****. They never released it though. I remember seeing a keyboard and mouse set for the xbox in my managers office when I was a game tester.

I just got this adapter and it rocks... You can play halo like playing in your pc... you can configure controls and its so easy... Just press 2 buttons... u can also save them too.. pretty sure in xbox live, guys are gonna get pissed and accuse you of cheating...

It wouldn't be that obvious... it'd only make your look sensitivity really high (improves turning speed at the expense of fine adjustment). I don't know that opponents would notice you turning quickly.

I was playng halo 2 the other night, and one team we played had to have those. They where getting head shots with the sniper rifle so much it was crazy. I'm thinking of getting one. Does it still work with a live headset?

A USB to PS/2 adapter is like $0.08, infact they come with most USB mice and keyboards.

Yeah, EGM (I think it was them) reviewed these and they said once you customize these (sensitivity etc) they're sweet, I dunno though I love the control scheme Halo uses especially with a Controller S.

I have one, but I don't use it anymore. I've only used it once or twice, but since I don't play halo much, I don't need it. Anyone want to buy it from me?

Gear, how much shipped? I don't Halo much either, but one of my buddies is a mouse-and-keys-only guy and it'd be fun to try.

Well, I got mine yesterday. It works pretty good with the Halo 2 preset. I'm going to have to get used to the buttons before I hop online tho.

Yeah, I've had mine for a while now. For a while I felt pretty frustrated as I kept losing rank and looking like a complete newb in front of my friends.

But now I have to admit I'm kicking some pretty consistent ass. Just today I jumped from a 12 rank to a 14 rank in Big Team after 8 games. In Team Slayer today I had a game where I had 15 head shots with the Sniper rifle.

If you don't believe me check out my stats at Bungie.net for SDRASTAMAN.

Up until now It's been a rough learning curve, but it's all been worth it.
I recommend a mouse with 2 extra buttons so your left hand isn't over-burdened with actions.
I use the left and right click as the left and right triggers. It's hard getting used to right clicking to fire but it's worth it. The extra 2 buttons I use for picking up weapons and zooming in. The scroll wheel I use for changing weapons and melee.

So what do you have your DZ setting at? I have left mine at the factory default of 33, but I think I might bump it up to 36 or so.

yup, I bumped the DZ up to 36 and promptly destroyed everyone in a rumble pit match. I think I'll keep it there.

can you set the primary weapon button to be the left mouse button instead?

Actually, are all halo actions programmable to whatever keyboard command or mouse button?
