Need opinion on old Atari system

Recently, my mom sent us the old Atari system we used to play. It doesn't all work, altho we haven't put a lot of effort into what does and doesn't work. We know the system does work, but not all the games seem to. There are probably 30-40 games at least. Is it worth it to try and ebay it, being sure to state that not everything is guaranteed to work and that they are buying "as is"? Or should we just toss it? heh

TIA

Sell the games if they work. If the system doesn't....you can still sell it. I hear a lot of people like to take them apart.

The old cartridge games usually don't "break" unless someone stepped on them. It's probably just dirty contacts. Try cleaning them with a little alcohol on a Q-Tip, or just plug them in and unplug them a bunch of times.

If you sell it on eBay, describe it exactly like you did here - some work, some don't and you don't want to spend a bunch of time working on it.

Yeah, those old games hardly ever really truely break. Heck even the system itself (we have cracked ours open more than once) is really simple on the insides.
We have a system and probably 30+ games with it. Some require more work than others.

It's hooked up in Mikey's room. That and the sega genesis...

I remember once back in the 80's after a rough game I...er....uh broke mine open and it almost all open space. Just one very small circuit board.

As I remember the big no-no was to put the game either into or out of the system while the power was on. That would fry the chip. And yes, I managed to do that too.

I think it will be worth the effort to list it with eBay. There are buyers for working and non-working 'Old Skool' games and systems.

Good luck!

We tossed ours. We had >50 carts, and we thought about ebaying them, but it was too much work-ebay was already saturated. We tried garage saling them, even that didn't work, so into the rubbish it all went.
