Xbox 360 buyers: Are you going to buy a new one when the HD-DVD version comes out?

I wanted to take a quick poll on if the XBox 360 owners would be buying a new Xbox360 once HD-DVD was offered on them. If not, what are you going to do about the HD-DVD formatted games?

since i have no money right now, I'm going to wait for a while before I get the Xbox 360.

Also, unless you really, really want it now or want one of those launch titles, I suggest you wait a little too. People are going to gouge you with high prices or stupid bundles for the next couple of months after launch. Also, you might want to wait until such issues are ironed out.

Microsoft didn't think ahead and make it user-replaceable? Going to be burned if BluRay wins (which it looks like it will)

I dont believe Blu-Ray or HD-DVD will win in the long run. We will move away from the standard altogether in my opinion at some point in the near future.
Just read the article about them not being on the 360. That kind of sucks for microsoft really.

Seriously though, with the brewing format wars (whether it's one of these two or something else), I would have thought that they would have made it replaceable. Sort of like the HD port on the PS2. Basically, whenever it's settled, you could buy a new drive from Microsoft so you could have the latest dvd format.

I want to buy one right away (I skipped the xbox and promised I would get the next gen) but now I'm worried about it. I don't want my system to be obsolete for at least a year or two. Not sure what to do.

I doubt the 360 without a HD-DVD will be obsolete in a year or two.

My brother is getting which ever one is avalible at Christmas this year. My mom and Grandma are buying it for him and I will be buying him a game. Do you think there will be used games by that point or am I going to have to buy him a brand new game. HMMMMMMMMMM.... Have to think about that one for a little bit..

You *might* be able to get a used game by Christmas but I bet it won't be any less that $40. I read that the minimum price for an Xbox 360 game is going to be 60 bucks! Still, there are those people who finish games the day they buy it, and so you might be able to get a used one cheaper. When the time comes and you are ready to purchase, post again and let us know what you are looking for. I am sure that someone can find a deal for you.
