Need for speed, most wanted
so today I finally found a copy of the PC version. ( got the black, limited edition one..)
am I the only one who thinks this game is much darker than the previous ones?? ..maybe my contrast and everything is screwey, but the roads are much much darker and lack the shinyness I loved in the Underground games. anyone? ~Kyle

Yea, i had the same feeling of darkness in the game from the Demo verison i played on PC. I think that is just something they were going for.

I agree here...just started playing the demo.
So far, I am not impressed and will probably not buy the retail game. On a 2nd note, I love NFSU2 BUT I am stuck pretty far in a career where I HAVE to win a Drift competition that is impossible....my max score is still 25% of the winning score. Is there a site or FAQ somewhere that gives hints on techniques for this? I crank on all the other modes, but drift gives me fits. thx! Jim |

Don't notice any "darkness"...graphics look great. To me, this seems to be the best "underground" type of NFS yet. It's got all the great parts about the two underground games...cars, parts, vynils, paints, etc. It has the best cop AI that I have seen in one of their games yet (figuring the only one you can compare it to is NFS:Hot Pursuit). I'm having a ball with this game.

Here is the faq that I have used. It is technically PS2, but all the same basic stuff applies to the PC. http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/f...ground_2_b.txt Are you having trouble with organic (downhill) drift, or track drift? I found track to actually be the easiest mode of all, though organic was pretty tough with all the traffic around. Remember that your speed affects your multipler, but the actual time it takes you to cross the finish doesn't mean squat. Go fast enough to keep your multiplier high, but don't feel like you have to be on the gas the whole time. If you really can't get past the race, PM me. You can zip up your savegame directory and send it to me. I can finish the race, save it, and send it back. I have completed the entire career on NFSU2.

I tweeked some of my gamma controls on my monitor and resolved most of the 'darkness' that I had previously mentioned.
..And now I'm freaking stuck at the very last race, it's freakin impossible :'( Anyone have tips for me so I can be lazy and not have to read through a walkthrough or faq? ~Kyle |

screw getting across the finish line in any sort of time, just get sideways as much as possible....learn the curves in the track by just going down a few times, you'll be better prepared to do multiple turns at once for more points. and remember that if you're gonna nail a wall, straighten out and get the points you have
