They have a large userbase to amass before they can effectively "compete". Unless they don't charge for online play, but they offer the whole experience, then they may have something.

I'm going to have to agree with zero here. "Sony to ATTEMPT to compete with XBox Live" would be a better headline. XBox live is definitely what has given xbox users an advantage over PS2 users since it was first launched. Microsoft definitely did things right, and just look at the article a few days back about the PS3 developer who was fired for admitting in an interview that the XBox 360 is more powerful and had more potential than the PS3, which is running far behind schedule. For some reason I don't see MS firing Jnoathan Jones (the man who came up with Halo) for telling an interviewer that he would love to develop a FPS on the Nintendo Revolution.
Anyway...enough rambling. I'm obviously an xboy, so take my words with a grain of salt. ProMinx
