http://www.glowstickfactory.com
I've been looking high and low for a cheap place to buy my glowsticks from and I think I found the cheapest one. I saw another newbie poster get flamed for recommending a glow site and I hope I don't get the same kind of welcome. I haven't checked his site out so don't know if its legit or not but here's my dealings with the mentioned site. I am really into raving and me and my friends burn through glowsticks like crazy. My friends used to buy from this one site all the time.. we didn't know better. Then I heard cheaper sites could be found so I thought why not see how much cheaper we could find. You will not believe how many glowstick stores are out there. Its insane. Anyways I found glowstickfactory on one of my many searches and overall it has by far the best prices. Of course they have some things cheaper then others and I mostly focus on glowsticks... I'm not sure about the other stuff, except the microlights which I'm also interested in... so make sure you still price compare a bit (like with your usual store)... I made only one order with the store so far. For 100+ sticks. I don't know why I trusted them to buy so many in one go but I figured shipping would eat a huge chunk if I didn't buy more. So far we've used about 20 with no problems... EXCEPT... on the red ones. Red glowsticks are notoriously low brightness so maybe thats normal.. but I would suggest staying away from them... I only tried 2 so maybe I just got unlucky.. so who knows... Anyways if you find cheaper please share.. 'cause I'm more than interested in finding new cheaper places. Any suggestions for rave clothes shops? ![]() |

There are cheaper places to buy glow stick stuff. That place has crap you buy at the drugstore.
A cheap true rave light store is http://www.glowland.net They are cheap and don't sell crapy toy like stuff. |

Whats your problem buttmunch? Aren't you the one who got flamed about glowland.net? Maybe now I see why.
I in no way made any bad comments towards your posting of the site. But now it seems like you're taking a bit too personally.. guess you might have tidings with that site after all... ![]() Grandmasterk: Micro Lights II. I think the Is don't have a button you can press to turn the lights on... and let go to switch it off again. Only a switch for either on or off. The button is a necessity when you want to learn to do those light shows. As for glowsticks. I use the 4" ones. The 5" fishhooks are a good alternative if you don't mind having to cut the edges off. 6" are more popular with ravers though... Any reason for asking? Need help with anything in particular? DaFunkyUnit: Yeah that place is nice too. I used to buy mine from there. Second cheapest around... and a good place if you don't plan on buying much and just want some specific colors.
Oh and the sticks are individually wrapped too so that makes them store better... Glowstickfactory does not individually wrap their glowsticks, which is why I guess they can offer the lower price. And no, they don't let you mix'n'match. Minimum is 10 of any color I think. Btw... I mentioned how the red sticks were defective.. well turns out I got a bad batch. They are sending me replacements as we speak. If I really do end up getting good red replacements... I'll be one happy customer! .[Edited by bawoo on 11-03-2000 at 08:30 PM] |

Bawoo:
if you use multiple microlights (>2) then the button would be hard to depress at the same time, right? or do you go for the 2 microlight tricks? do you hold the micro lights between index and thumb or on a keyring on you finger? or on a lanyard and strings. I think it would be impossible to depress the buttons while microlights are on a string. And which color microlights did you get? I saw that blue, and some other colors are really short-lived battery-wise. Also, it's true about ravers liking the 6" glowsticks because they are easier to hang on to when your getting tirEd. =) Are the 4" ones good for tying on to strings? RE: Micro Lights II. Here is the deal on Photon Microlights...
The original Microlight has a button you need to push down and hold for it to stay on(sort of like "pinching" the light)... The Microlight II has the same button as the original Microlight, but ALSO has a switch you can click to keep the light on without "pinching" it...also supposedly has a stronger case. you can get em for about $15 from here: http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/photon.htm If you pay tax in California, go to http://www.1sks.com .. they are in FL, and give you free UPS shipping if you use Paypay(or they used to anyway). but can also be found cheaper on Ebay...i got a red PHOTON II for $13.75 shipped via ebay. Hope I'm getting a good price. ![]() [Edited by Talk2raffi on 11-05-2000 at 09:16 PM] |

Heh a little late but...
This site seems to be the best one out there for Micro Lights: http://www.lights4raves.com
The guy sells tons of them on EBay and has a great feedback rating so I doubt you can go wrong with him. I've never bought from him though, but thats about to change .Grandmasterk: - Usually hold them with a ring around a finger and between index and thumb... and only 2 lights. I've never tried the string stuff but I hear its a lot easier to pick up and looks good once you do. - If you go check the ebay listing of the guy who owns the site I mentioned here, he explains every color... and yes blue is shorter lived. But 10-12 hours is plenty especially if you don't plan on keeping them turned on most of the night. - 4 inch are better IMHO if you do liquid with it... looks smoother... Actually the 5 inch fishhooks seem as if they might be the best ones. I need to try those. 4 inch sometimes don't glow bright enough. Freenet: - It's really common now to see people at raves doing lightshows with glowsticks and the photon lights. They literally just perform shows for people to watch. And when you're high, its mesmerizing. Very cool when done well. |

I bought my Photon lights from this site last year.... http://www.vci.offc.com/catalog700.html . it's the same price ($12 USD) and I think their shipping fees are reasonable (I'm in Canada and they only charged me $4 for USPS Global Priority). They were very helpful and hell, this site looks a little more "professional" than http://www.lights4raves.com . I am in no way affiliated with any of these companies. Just describing my first online purchase experience (and it was a good one)...
