Amazon Deal Of The Week: Xbox 360 $100 starts T-Day

If you got to Amazon they have a customer vote on what the deal of the week should be. Right now it's 85% vote for an Xbox 360 for $100 but limited to only 1000 units. The vote ends Tuesday. Wednesday the winning customer vote is announced. Thursday only 1000 people will click the deal and get it at that price.

It's similar to the American Express Wishlist deal which by the way is ramping up.

Read the rules.

Yeah I voted for this as well. I don't need a seXbox, but if I can get one for 100 bucks than I'll get one just to play with my buddies.

Anybody know how upgradable the core system is? I don't know much about the 360. Are you able to add a HD? or connect wireless controllers?

Get ready to overload their servers at 11:00 am Pacific on Thursday. http://www.amazon.com/gp/holiday.htm...=cv%2Fhomepage
If you are going to participate, I would suggest reading how it is going to work here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/holiday.htm...v%2Fbuyingtips

You do not have to try to get your entire transaction completed before they run out. They will give you a code which you can use later for the discount price so I guess it is the first 1000 to click on the page when it is available.

Thanks for the tip ZJ and, yes, prepare for some "Server Not Responding" stuff.

I'm betting if anyones servers can handle it, it's Amazon's.

Amazon's servers are getting pounded and not handling it well. The university pipe at the office isn't even getting the front page.

I'm not sure - if nobody can get a response from the site....

After 10 minutes, the main page appears!

Pretty much... people who *did* get a screen at 2:01 (EST) report that it already sold out. 28 seconds sounds about right.

So if people from Amazon told people the link that they would need to "click on" beforehand - at 11:00 wouldn't they have been able to just skip that page.. and go directly to purchasing.
