In related news, FastStone Screen Capture is no longer freeware. It was formerly free for personal use. The last freeware version is 5.3.

Version 5.4 was released a couple of weeks ago:

Snagit is an excellant program and if you find it as useful as I do, I recommend you buy it. Its inexpensive, their technical support is responsive and courteous, etc.

Chances are the free license will have a limited lifespan, so if you get hooked on it like I have, you might as well get your own license so you'll be entitled to any future 8.x upgrades.

Another program I used before buying a new computer with Vista and it's Snipping Tool was mwsnap. Also free and worked fine.

Snagit is an excellant program but a little expensive i think. i have been using aca capture pro for some time,i think it can meet my demands. thank for the free version!
