Also, there is a new PS3 Slim version coming out that comes with a 120GB drive. That is also $299 but its in Pre-Order

I just found out that it does not have backward compatibility in case anyone else is curious.

Yep. Sony has 0 plans to add backward compatibility to any PS3 model in the future. Although I fail to realize why Software Backward Compatibility isn't offered. Even if people have to pay $20-$50 for it.

i think it was a dumb idea for sony to not have backward compatibility. There are lots of great PS2 games out there. Although getting a PS2 these days is so cheap
