Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headset Giveaway!

The guys at Surplus Computers are giving away three (3) Jawbone 2 Bluetooth Headsets!

To enter into this drawing just follow these simple steps:

1) Reply to this thread.
2) Tell us what kind of deal have you been holding out for **AND/OR** what features or tools would you like to see on this site.

We will only consider intelligible and reasonable comments as valid entries. In three days (09/14/2009) this thread will be locked and we will randomly pick three winners and they will be notified by email. If they don't respond within three days, a new name will be drawn. The Jawbone 2 is a sweet bluetooth headset - I'm sad I'm not eligible.

Good luck to you all!

Hope it helps! Daddy needs a Jawbone...

Been waiting for a compact, complete wardriving kit suitable for travel. Need a small, collapsable antenna, hi-power portable ap or ap/router and cables/case. This way, you can get the coffee shop wireless without leaving your room etc....

Also, need an HDD USB dock with older legacy compatability. I still have numberous old hard drives that I would like to recover and wipe clean. I can't get to them without rebuilding the old computers!

Really would like to see more 24-28 inch monitors with HDMI and digital tuner built in. That way, you can use it in the camper or kitchen as both TV and monitor--reducing the need for extra adapters or the expense of a media-recording computer.

HOw about those super closeout prices on all-in-one desktops? Most of the deals are not really 'deals' at all.

cheers!

(oh yeah...how about an RSS feed for the surplus computers hot deals?)

I like to get a new motherboard for my Intel d-6600 dual core. i love to see a combo package offer with a good gigabyte motherboard , good gaming video card , also a be able to handle 4 ide devices , and offered with free shipping and handling. bare bones packages to upgrade systems . with /without computer cases. there a lot of us out here that really don't have a need for a new cheap case when upgrading . this can make a big different when it comes to buying a upgrade package from one retailer over another. even if the case is offer free. you still end up paying shipping for a item you may not really need or want.

Every time a deal comes along, I never take it. It's the same for the stock market - I see the profit coming but I never trust my instincts to buy in. I missed out on the Nvidia Geforce 260 core 216 not once, but twice!! I also missed out on some awesome Dell systems lately with 22-24 inch monitors.... WHAT WAS I THINKING?! I am constantly helping friends and clients update their systems...so why do I let the deals pass me by?! I'm on this site every day, and have had some solid savings at times. Vostro Hackintoshes FTW!

I think Facebook integration is an excellent idea to implement - just more income for you guys if I can inform my friends of an awesome deals... Thanks gotapex!

I am waiting for a deal on logitech remotes, specifically the 360 remote. It has been around for a LONG time and I keep hoping the price will come down a bit!

As for this site, it is darn near perfect.

hi!
2) Tell us what kind of deal have you been holding out for **AND/OR** what features or tools would you like to see on this site.

I've been holding out on a Canon point and shoot camera. My dad's just broke, so I gave my sd1000 to him. Now I need an upgrade!
I've been looking at an sd1200, but thinking about the sd780. I know they were under 200 bucks at one point, but everywhere has them for around 225 now.

What I would LOVE to see on the deals page is a way to default to have all of the deals to only show the title of each deal (similar to slickdeals... (oh no! I said another website's name!)). It makes browsing the deals page a lot easier.

An alternative is to shrink and expand ALL the deals with one button. Right now, there's only one button to shrink the whole day's into a title showing the date (not useful), and a button to shrink each and every deal one by one (not doing that)

I've been holding out for a nice bluetooth headset device, 10 inch netbook, and miniSSD deal.

Recently, I only see mostly Dell/HP pc deals. I would like to see more variety of deals including Electronics, Gadgets, Cellphones, Apparels... Any interesting deal that could spark our online shopping interest. You guys used to have Free shirt, food..etc deals. Those would be nice as well.

Netbook

Hey, I have been holding out for either an ultra portable laptop or a netbook. Looking for a 12-13" screen with a little more power than a netbook or a netbook with an optical drive.

Also, it would be nice to see some sporting goods equipments on this site, especially golf related equipments. Sometimes, sites such as GPPgolf.com have really amazing deals on clubs and golf balls.

I would like to see a cash back system similar to fatwallet, bing, or bigcrumbs.

I used to use gotapex as my main deals site. But lately I only check it out when I need a Dell deal since the front page seems to always have them. But I dont see much else that I am interested in. I am not complaining I like to be able to see dell deals quickly.

I would like to see more memory cards and monitors on sale.

To improve the site, I would like to see the store on facebook (some1 already mentioned above) and as a buyer, I want to know the website is secure or not. Some shipping free items would be a great attraction.

To improve website, there should be a reward program that offer free shipping on next order or some cash back system to attract buyers.
As a buyer, I want to make sure the website is secure or not. That would be a major issue since first time buyers don't know about the website security issues.
I would like to see "Free shipping" icon instead of "free ground shipping" words. It's just easy and clearer to look at the site.
If there is some more pictures on the product would be helpful. I don't have to look for pictures at google and it could prevent from shopping at the other place.

I'm hoping my response to the thread counts as a reply...

As for what kind of deals I've been holding out for.
1. DVD storage case.
2. Blu-rays
3. LCD monitors (mainly just waiting for prices to drop some more)
4. Nikon lenses

As for the feature, nothing comes to the top my head for the moment.

I've been waiting for a smokin' hot deal on a netbook. So far, I haven't seen one that would make me pull the trigger.

i've been looking for deals on a rich girlfriend or wife. presumably that's against the TOS or illegal in most states and countries, so please don't call the cops on me

i would love to see some t-shirts with the new logo or even a once-a-year G|A hosted get together with free swag, rich women (see previous paragraph), and lots of gadgets to play with. world peace would be great too, but that's way too much to ask for from just 1 internet site. perhaps you can partner up with someone else on that.

Would love to see a deal on Rosetta Stone language software (Spanish). I need to relearn Spanish for work, but this software is crazy expensive! Also, ditto on the Blu-ray deals and I would love a deal on a netbook or very small notebook with a dedicated graphics card.

I have the winners!

Method: I input all the usernames into Random.org and randomized the list around 30 times. I took the first name at the top of the list as the first winner and then deleted that username from the list. I then repeated the process two more times. (Don't worry, I didn't include Lights or myself in the list)

Winners:

1) Roniman
2) Greenhill
3) Bandwidth

Thanks for all your suggestions. They made a lot of sense and a lot of them were ones we were thinking about as well.

Many thanks to Surplus Computers for the prizes!

To the winners: please PM me your mailing addresses so I can give them to Surplus Computers.
