the catch..

The catch is... the bond takes somewhere around 15-20 years to mature..

If you go to the bank right now, you might get $0.02

instant gratification

So put it away for your kids or future kids. Give it as a gift. Pocket the .02 cents. Whatever you want. What is the postage for a postcard???

Bond

Do not give your bond to the bank. I will 100X the going rate and give ANYONE 2$ CASH For their 50$ bond.
Postage is .23$ I think.

Thumbs down Thank you

Thank you for topping my post. My point was that what these bonds are worth is significant. I'd bet that someone will pay good money for these. I'd say these are worth at least $12 maybe up to $45. I for one bid $15 cash on anyones bonds.
BTW if I did my intrest right these will be worth $135-174 in 25 years depending on what kind of (I'm assuming US) savings bond it is

OK... so I got the form to fill out (to recieve the actual savings bond), and it is asking for a clever clubhouse "member number". It also says that "incomplete forms will not be processed".

Hmmm... I'm gonna leave it blank, unless anyone else has better advice...

I sent in my 3x 5 card in an envelope sometime in November and just got the application form today. I left the Membership Number blank. The bond will be worth $50 when it matures-whenever that is. The form didn't say what the term is. I also got the Forman Grill and CD player and digital camera.

Just to let you guy know it does work!! So far I got my George Foreman Grill, and two digital cameras. I think I will fill out this one to all my relatives. HEee hee hee. Thanks for the tips!!

Hey I just notice that MyPoints.com of offering all this free stuff for California is starting to stop and not offer it anymore. I know because all my new MyPoints email don't have this know of offer for the same stuff.

This is an old thread and the offer is no longer in effect, but I just wanted to say that I actually got my $50 savings bond today! Now all I have to do is wait 30 years for it to mature. It is a series EE bond from the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Hey Zippy, did you enter in your actual SS# or did you put in all zeros? I was just curious, thanks!

I received mine yesterday. I sent in my actual SNN, and it's actually printed on the saving's bond itself.
