AIComputers - Zalman CNPS7000 a-cu on deals page

Has anyone seen the resellers rating on this company. Pretty scary if you ask me. http://www.resellerratings.com/seller6310.html

Is Got|Apex endorsing this company? I'd need some reassurance before I ordered from them.

Not sure about them but

you should look at Dell's rating on there!!! After looking at that I'm not sure why I have bought 3 computers from them. Well ok they seem to be working although under a year old for each. Oh and I got great deals on them, and had no glitches in the ordering process. On the other hand I haven't had to call tech support and learn to speak a foreign language for help. Long winded point maybe I'm not to sure about the ratings on reselleratings. I know I spoke with one other company before buying my Dells and they rank 9 + on reseller. My experience was the people I spoke with didn't know what they were selling, the tech people couldn't answer the questions I asked either, or the salesman never really asked, and you had to load all the drivers and software yourself. The real killer they cost more than the comparable Dells I bought!
Hope you don't fall asleep reading this.

Problem was with a finance company they used to work with (they no longer do). Pay with credit card, and you should have no problems. We have yet to hear of 1 unresolved problem from our viewers, and believe me, if there was something like that, people would scream. Seriously scream.

Basically, when you pay with credit card, you're covered. If your product does not ship, a 5 minute phone call to your credit card disputes the charge.

Your comfort level is important. You have to decide whether you believe your credit card will cover you if anything happens. If it will not, it's not worth sweating until the product comes. You may as well order elsewhere. However, this is a great deal, and since you're not financing the thing, what's the risk?

I received this cooler today.

Good grief, it is monstrous!! It is 4-1/2" diameter. I hope my MOBO will handle the weight of it.

When did you order it? I've been waiting for mine and their supplied tracking number is not to be found at dhl.com. They say they shipped it 3 days ago via dhl and I can find no way to track it. Thanks.

You guys should really read the ratings, not just go by the score. There are absolute horror stories. I've spoken to a number of AIPCS customers. They have a board on Yahoo, and the guy made a web site. HUGE red flags, guys! Geez!

AIPCS is under investigation by the Suffolk County DA, not to mention any federal proceedings. Do NOT buy anything from them, I don't care what Apex says. He gets paid from AIPCS to place ads here, and (no offense, Apex) he is biased.

No offense taken at all. Each person is entitled to his or her own opinion, and I definitely would not begrudge you yours. You are very right, we do get paid by AI Computers.

Full disclosure for those interested in buying this $35 heatsink: We earn roughly 0.08% (that's 1/1200) of our monthly revenue from AI Computers, just a shade more than what we earn from Big Girls' Bras.

I ordered two silent case fans frm them last week and received them FedEx with the free t-shirts.

They were quick and thorough. Can't ask for more than that.

Thanks for posting this Apex!

I ordered one of these and it showed up within a week. I replaced my 4000db Coolermaster fan with it, and it's a HUGE improvement soundwise. Now I can hear my drives...one of which sounds like it's failing.

My only complaint is that the tracking number they sent me was a UPS tracking link. However, it was invalid through UPS, USPS, DHL, and FedEx. They never replied to my inquiry on a new tracking number.

I came home from work and it was sitting on my doorstep. It was a FedEx box, with a UPS label pouch, and a DHL mailing label. Wow. Hehe

-S

Update: I also did not receive a T-Shirt, but that really matters not to me. Just FYIng my experience.

Since I started this thread I should give my results. I ordered the Zalman cooler and later the casefan. The nice thing is that I got a $5 credit on the fan for buying the Zalman. I think final cost was $2.19 for the fan, delivered. I got the products in a timely manner, with the tracking number being the only hitch. They shipped DHL, which was bought out by airborne for their ground shipping. Apparently Airborne couldn't handle it and switched it off to Fedex. The tracking number never worked, but I was able to call DHL on the phone and was told it would be delivered that day. All in all, it worked out to be a good experience. Thanks Apex.

Has anyone installed this yet? If so, is it difficult to install?

I found it reasonably easy to install, though I guess it would depend on how much room there is in your case/mobo near the processor bracket.

Is there any danger in installing this thing on a vertically oriented machine? I'm worried about the weight of the thing pulling my CPU mount off of my Mobo.

There shouldn't be, it's attached pretty securely. Use common sense though. Be careful when transporting too, if it doesn't seem tightly screwed in (some motherboards do not have as robust brackets as others).

Damn, the Zalman 7000 is B I G.

I hope my MB will support it. Gotta love the AI guys. Even though it was my second order with them, they tossed in another T-shirt and the 4 thumb screws (on top of the $5 discount from my first order).

Good find, Apex!

Ok let me say first off I was real leary of ordering from AI when I first read the reviews at reseller. I emailed Apex with my concerns and he pointed me to this thread and also said they had not had any problem with AI and let them know if I did. I was not looking at the Heatsink but rather a high end custom computer. I know, I know build it myself. I would but don't have time and I am currently disabled which hampers my ability. I went and did the research on AI and every complaint I could find dealt with a finance company not AI directly. I have no need of a finance company so it doesn't even apply to me. I did mention it to the person I talked to on the Phone from AI and they said they no longer deal with that company. AI came up with a very competitive price for what I wanted but could not get some of the parts eactly as I wanted. I would not hesitate to deal with them and if using a CC you are protected. I have no conections to Apex or AI.

Requires slight modifications to work on some mobos

I have the NFII Lanparty B. In order to use this fan, I had to cut off party of the mounting apparatus.
