Okay, I've just built a new computer and I'm experiencing some weird problems.
One of them is that my computer will lock up if it goes into sleep mode. I'm not sure if it's a software problem or not. All I know is that I had Winamp going and it'll go to sleep with it playing. Music will continue for about five minutes, when it abruptly stops and then the computer won't wake back up. The system does not usually lock up when I do any active computing-so I not positive that it's overheating. Does this sound like a hardware problem? (Maybe the CPU fan turning off in sleep mode) Oh, and my mobo is an Asus CUSL2 ATX. All of the system monitors are set to the default, and I'm not OC-ing. Thanks, Wilks |

As you said your computer is going to sleep. It also sounds like your using win98 gwilks98. Right click on your desktop, go to the screen saver tab. Under the settings button disable the monitor, hard drive and system savings power modes.
If your using 98se there's a patch out from Microsoft that takes care of this problem. [Edited by sbp on 09-23-2000 at 11:06 AM] |
