alrighty then...chosen fool, you listenin'???
just spilled the beans for a kickass rig. athlon 750,asus k7v,voodoo 5500,mushkins pc150,s/b live gamer,cdrw,30 gig. lets rock baby... but wait...cant i o/c this bitch for bigger/better/faster/more...why hell yeah. but no...fsb hangs at 110...boots at 107/1.80 volts 807 mhz??? i figured at least 900.?? time for a gold finger??? and how do i get the most out of my high dollar memory if the bus wont go that high?? by the way...anyone tried a heat pipe setup for cooling??? chosen fool...bueller...anyone??? advice needed. thanks. |

Athlons aren't as overclockable using the fsb as PIII's. Athlons as you found out peter out at 110Mhz or 115Mhz at best. So yes its time for a gold finger 351freak. That or get the slot one Athlon modded.
"anyone tried a heat pipe setup for cooling???" Nope. I use a good cpu cooler like an Alpha and have plenty of case fans. I also use the cardcooler. |

the k7v's have a problem going over 800 mhz -- do the mod that will turn it into a k7v-t or you're probably gonna be stuck at the speed you got ...
